Hi,
I purchased a PC last year and got Norton 360 as part of the deal, the 1 year licence runs out in 30 days and Norton want the better part of £70 to extend the licence for 1 year (!!! not a chance!!).
Does anyone know where I can get a better deal? or something as user friendly and reliable as I have found Norton.
Many thanks

I personally use AVG (Free) at home and we also have the Commercial version at work. I found AVG to be great, but others also recommend Avast. I have had friends phone me for help cleaning machines of viruses with McAfee and Norton, I put them on to AVG and no problems yet.0

As 'reliable as Norton'!? Well, that would be AVG Free then...
Seriously, Avira, Avast or MSE will all do the job for nothing, and much better.
Or Kaspersky for a paid AV program (but it's free with Barclays online banking). No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Dont install AVG:idea:0

Do install Avg. At least try it.
I have run it for many years on various systems and it has always been reliable. Also, it doesn't hog resources like many bought software av programs.
I'm sure there are many other good products that are also free, but I've never had cause to use them. So try it and if you don't like it try another.I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.0 -

Im stunned:idea:0 -
Just yesterday I had to fix yet another computer that had AVG on. I removed trojans and a ton of malware
AVG is a resource hog
The poorest of the 4 top free av programs for finding threats
Its 'link scanner' is useless
VERY poor with malware
etc etc etc
OP - use AVAST or AVIRA
Use MALWAREBYTES as a secondary scanner
FIREFOX with NOSCRIPT if you want browsing to be bomb proof
COMODO if you 'must' use a 3rd party firewall (Windows is fine for most people)
***EDIT***
Use the Norton removal tool before doing anything else
