  • Thanks all. Michelle I had a LOT of help...which is pretty sad as I can do computer things at work ok.

Toilet training is slow going, she thinks we go outside so she can kill my shoes and eat bark. DD1 is tormenting her at the moment (verbally only).

Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

  • Thankyou. She has been doing record breaking sleeping today, and she is definitely a Labrador, obsessed with food.

I have a growth scan tomorrow at the hosp, and Friday we are taking her for her next jabs.

We have been busy clearing our bedroom floor...DH built the pop-up wardrobe and all our stuff now has a home, he is just doing additional vacuuming and making the bed with fresh linen, should be a bit more civilised. I talked him into getting rid of two hideous jackets that he has never worn since we have been together, and following courgette's example, there has been a lot of stuff chucked/recycled.

You can really really tell we have hardly been at home in daylight since forever, the place is a pit.

  • You have had an awful lot on recently, and still a few weeks to get it done. I am sure it will be looking much better already.
  • Just been for a teensy sleep to test it out, and it is much easier to sleep when the room is clear. Jobs outstanding include...

    put up DD1's new curtains
    get cot set up
    get clothes out of attic
    get new cot mattress

I'm sure we'll get there. So much washing has been done today.

  • Just tried to register puppy in our names with KC, and discovered couldn't read bar code number on her microchip, so that's another thing to get sorted with the vets tomorrow.

DD2 has just coloured in a door so she could do some cleaning...oops. DH managed to get his sister's name wrong in the probate application (?!)

  • Think the consultant would find me a bed in hosp this afternoon so I can escape the chaos at home for a couple of weeks??!!

Things sound really hectic for you. You're getting so much done but hope you get some relaxation time too

  • Thanks, jellie I will.... all went well at the hosp, except the place itself is in chaos, the consultant hadn't turned up for work, which was fine by me, but then got nabbed by another one, but he was v.nice. So...all ok for homebirth, still none the wiser about baby being boy/girl.

Bought a damp proof membrane (aka plastic sheet) for the event...3 1/2 years ago this cost a tenner, now it costs £22...go figure.

Also rather succumbed to a fluffy toy for puppy and a collar and lead for her, and kinder eggs for the DDs. Naughty. Upside, got £290 of the £790 for DH's marking...so party funds now in the black which is a rare event recently.

DH has been on the phone to SIL who has been telling him how hard it all is...er, think he knows, MIL was his mother too.

Tomorrow I have seven items to ask the vet about...and to give parents a cheque, and to get the blanket box in and in place. Also DH has a picture to go up in the sitting room. That will do for tomorrow.

DDs and I managed to wrap DH's presents, and I got rid of a bagful of stuff to the charity shop.

Great news about the homebirth! We used the shower curtain for ours. It's a shame you don't live closer as you could have had our unused birth pool

People are strange aren't they. My dad once told me how hard it had been for growing up without a father. Er, hello?

The baby is hitting himself in the head with a plastic toy and seems to be enjoying it. Are they supposed to do things like that?:rotfl:
