Congrats on making it till half term. Hope you get some down time before the little mite makes an appearance!!

My friend had a scan today to find out if placenta had moved...it has. However, apparently her baby is already 7lb 7oz and she still has 6 weeks to go!!! She has to go for more test now to see if she's got diabeties...bless her. Her bump is apparently off the scale! Oophs.

    Here's to maternity leave xx
  • Thanks everyone. I'm soo relieved but also grateful as everyone has been sooo kind. I came home with armfuls of flowers and choccies and baby goodies. Bless them.

Twinklie was your friend having the scan your bessie from work? That sounds a big bubba. She will need you most when she returns to work as it will be harder for her than she realises with babe 6 months old.

Ha ha pavolov's teaching is a fab contraceptive, the head asked me today if I had worked out what was causing it yet (LOL) in return I asked him if he thought his discipline policy would work on puppy. Know what you mean about names...some lovely names are now verboten, used to love Olivia for example...

Michelle that's an interesting one, does boredom result in you getting pg??

I am soo anal I put sticky labels on all 8 of my keys and wrote out a "key" for my replacement so she knows which does what....

Baptism weekend...now am I a Godparent or not?!

  • Many people who have had big babies say they are actually easier to deliver, so all is not lost.

i need to plot on something, so when i get bored or feel life is too easy, that is when i do daft things like have extra children.

  • Grateful - i need to plot on something, so when i get bored or feel life is too easy, that is when i do daft things like have extra children. My focus is very much still paying off the mortgage, but once that is gone, i might be less sensible. Who knows.

How do you think I got in this state in the first place??!!

What sort of baby pressies did you get? I remember i got lovely snowsuits, outfits, an organiser thing in the shape of a teddy bear, a height chart, and lots of cool little bits. My head teacher was really nice and got me a book to read on mat leave and then he sent an outfit when i had DS2. He tried to come round to visit when i had DS1. Liked the personal touch.

That's really lovely. Um, a baby outfit from the technicians and some body butter, flowers from the department, and my main TA, and my replacement (bless), a toy and bootees from one of my Y10 (total surprise), chocs from a collective of my Y11 and one of my Y7, cards...and a dolly hand made from my Head of Year.

As for big babies, personally my DS2 was easier at 9Ib2oz, but i know two mums who recently had 9Ib6oz first babies, both small ladies who had a rough time at the time, but ok now. I can't believe how big babies are getting. My mil puts it down to us all being so healthy nowadays. Very few people smoke, drink, eat stuff they shouldn't, and then we give the bubs extra vitamins too. I dread to think what weight a 3rd baby would be, and then i would probably need a home birth. My grandma was 14Ib born back in 1926, and that must have been a home birth, but she was the 5th child. Poor great grandma.

Do they get bigger the more you have then?

Hi, smlsave *waves* mat leave is busy at the moment, as we are off away for the weekend. I have to go figure out how to get the third row seats stowed away in the car, and wrap baptism gift et.c.
