  • I could do flylady so well as just me and DH, and even to some extent when we had just DS1, but now it seems impossible. I try. I am just hoping it gets easier when DS2 has a few hours of school to, but then again, i am not spending all that time cleaning.
  • Yes I like AnW'smum's method of dot to dotting where you just do the bit that most annoys you, then another bit, and so on so hopefully they join up, or at least chaos doesn't descend!

Washing machine has been on constantly today and think I'm coming down with a horrible cold. Haven't done any ironing, but will prob do it while DH does baths.

This extreme cold may make me finally put up the curtains in the kitchen!

  • We haven't had anything up at the kitchen window since we moved in so i need to find something i like that matches the tiles. It is freezing in the kitchen at the minute as there is no door on the pantry so air vent bricks on show, and no radiator. Can't wait for all those finishing touches.

Hope dd is feeling better and your cold doesn't turn out to be horrid. I can't seem to get past Monday each time I attempt flylady.
  • The kitchen is getting the curtains out of our bedroom, after my Aunt donated some nicer curtains for there. They are dry cleaned and waiting to go, no excuse really, except finding enough hooks (the base clef type ones). Maaaan they are expensive!

The only time I've got the whole week done on flylady is when its the school holidays. It is still good support and motivation, though.

  • Well a very cold and grumpy day. I feel really ill and I'm going to rename the children pooey and pukey I think.

Managed to spend £261 on car insurance, have to cash in the old policy as they were going to charge me £700!! I have never had an accident since I was 17. Yes car insurance, a big boo hiss to them, £35 "refund fee" for what???? Anyway I will get £79 back on the old insurance policy so not so bad.

Spent £30 of personal spends on a camera, the rest (?!) was paid for with birthday money. Ebay bargain...I hope!

Put it through greasy palm, as am nearly up to £25 for a payout, but do they ever pay out??
The weird thing is the insurance is cheaper on the new car than the old one.

Greasy Palm always used to pay out with me when I used them years ago.

Hope you're all feeling better soon
  • Thanks, yukkibear. Do you do quidco now?

  • Well off sick today (seems to happen a lot lately). Think I have actual 'flu. Got my car insurance for £261 in the end, Yes Car insurance who I was with before wanted me to pay £700, er...so much for loyalty to existing customers!

Should also be due a refund of the old policy (£79) and car tax on the old car (not sure how much).

Glad you got your car insuarance sorted out, DH renewal is nearly £500 but I have a quote for £260 ish with £25 cashback! Such a shame you can't rely on car insurance to go down year after year esp when you are claim free. We are thinking of moving so hope it doesn't increase with a new postcode!
