    Happy birthday!
    Saving for an early retirement!
  • Thanks, hex good to see you. I'm afraid notalot of flying being done.

And Imelda thanks and nice to meet you.

Just had some birthday cake, DD1 iced the words on and DD2 stuck icing flowers on. Lovely. Its snowing on the moor, had a rather exciting skid and that's in a 4x4.

Think we will go and look at a motor tomorrow if we're not snowed in.

    Thanks, yukkibear.

Did have a lovely evening but conked out at 9.15. What a party animal!!!

My sins today have been many and various, I got a huggies new baby pack and a pack of newborn nappies with £1.22, a voucher and nectar points. I've also downloaded the nectar toolbar. The pack had in 50ml fab conditioner, a small sample of persil, a pair of socks, a fold-up changing mat - lilac with white spots, hope its a boy - a pack of tissues, a full pack of huggies sensitive wipes, a half can of foamy shower wash, antibacterial hand wash, full size and that's it. Pretty neat.

Ooh and had a pedicure while ballet was on, purple toenails and wandering out in the snow in my flipflops so they didn't smudge, people staring at me thinking "!!!!!!???"

On the darker side of finances, I've bought a car. Outrageous I know, but we negotiated a couple of things to be beautified on it, car seat covers, 12 months mot, a grand part exchange for our heap of junk, new tyres and 12 months land rover warranty for about the price you would pay for an ebay purchase.

Pick it up on Saturday next. Lunch at sainsburys in the end (£22) and s l o w service, but good food. And I'm such a muppet I didn't tick the "second class post" box on ebay so ended up making no net profit on a paint pad I sold. D'oh! You live and learn.

I got £105 in birthday money and so I might get a digital camera to help with ebaying, once I work out how to make a profit...

Phew! What a day. Snowing here today, DDs were excellent all day, ballet cost 50p as we'd paid last week. All the housework still to do, and DH confessed he had gone over budget a bit on my birthday present, which was amethyst earrings, they were gold and I didn't even notice as it was semi dark when I unwrapped them. He's very naughty but I guess its a good vice for a husband to have!

    Off to catch up.

My you have been busy! Glad you had a good birthday. :rotfl:at your pedicure - the things we do!

I'm not much of an ebay entreprenuer and am amazed how well some people do. I have stuff ending in a couple of days and barely any views and no watchers :(

We recently bought a new car too, well new to us and although we are still paying it off it seemed cost effective in the long run.

Enjoy camera shopping (and make sure you get cashback!)

I have the nectar toolbar too - up to 15 points!

Aww it's nice to be spoiled, so enjoy the earrings.

I don't seem to have much luck on ebay either, sell enough but never for good money, still clears the space in my house.
  • Cath the only thing I did well on was my CBFM after I conceived this baby, got pretty much the cost back, and also a peugot 206 which I was only expecting scrap value for, I got £300. Everything else is slow going, but baby clothes and maternity wear are supposed to go well.
The car is mostly on 0% for a year credit cards, we will pay one off this year and hopefully balance transfer the other two. (about 5k on each, eek!!). Still, the car is a long term prospect, so long as I have a good chance of not breaking down on the motorway with the kids in it, and we all fit in, I'm not too interested in having the latest thing.

yukkibear it feels good to get the clutter out, doesn't it?

Well I am completely exhausted today, been up in the night with DD1 being sick (nice) we have cancelled riding as she's not completely better. I now have the traditional mountain of vomity bedclothes to wash (nice!). DH is vacuuming the kitchen, then chores all the way I think. Still I feel so much better than last weekend, no hint of a meltdown!

I am only up to two points on the nectar browser, and I have bid on a camera. Fingers crossed.

  • Chores chores chores. Bit boring, and such a shame we have to give up so much weekend to it. One day we may be organised.

Hope your DD is feeling better now. Doesn't sound fun.
  • Thanks, she is in bed at the moment, and we cancelled riding but the ground is so hard anyway they may well have cancelled us.

Yeah, I'm a believer in the flylady thing of doing it in the week, but I'm so tired after being at work that I can't bring myself to do it. Still we have managed to put our spare room/nursery back together, so that's something.
