I got rid of all our newborn stuff so no matter what we need to buy again, gender neutral for us then i will go on a mad splurge, cot bedding is John Lennon Real Love so neutral ish and pram is a green bugaboo. I need a pram suit in neutral colours and thats me until birth. We were going to do a 3d scan but I feel with house expense its just not worth it. If a parent said oh we will pay for a scan or similar I would defnately agree but at the moment nope it will be a total surprise. Sounds weird but I don't even want to hazard a guess at gender incase i'm wrong
I have thought about it...but we'll find out soon enough. You're 5 weeks ahead of me LP are you due mid feb?cha97michelle wrote: »I have some boys stuff here that i would be happy to post either of you if it is a boy. I already passed on most of the neutral stuff. i'd be happy to pass on to an appreciative home. I gave loads to my sister in law but all the stuff we gave her seemed to not get used as her parents (separated) went into who can buy the most mode.
Thanks Michelle I will fight LP for them, although I won't 'cos she will be in the know first!!I had mixed feeling about having a 3d scan, felt i really wanted one so I could see baby and i was amazed by photos I saw of friends ones. Having said that though, as didn't want to find out sex it may have fet weird seeing baby like that but not knowing if boy or girl. We wouldn't find out sex next time, i adored not knowing and was convinced I was having a boy! Was very surpised when this [STRIKE]little[/STRIKE] giant girl appeared!!
I was totally convinced DD2 was a boy, despite the scan saying girl:rotfl:
LP can you not have a scan later on then? I thought I might find out at 34 week growth scan. Am I kidding myself? Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Just joining your thread! Congrats on the impending baby!0

Hi, Caroline welcome! And thanks.
I'm having another day off work, throat infection is pretty bad. My Dad has kindly come round to do some jobs for me, which then turn into more jobs as our house used to be owned by a (dear lovely) make do and mender from the original era of make do and mend!
Example...there's a hole in the plaster, simples, just put a bit of masking tape over the hole and noone will know if you paint over it!
So a little job turns into three much bigger ones.
So far, though, paint in DD2's new room is touched up, realised the sash cord is broken on the window, so needs fixed and all the dowel is broken on the bunk bed, so need new dowel...horrible visions of the top deck of the bunk bed landing on DD2 while she's in bed.
Could be a long job. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Just rang Homebase and they don't even know what sash cord is. D'oh!
Very excited though as car I have my eye on has been reduced and they are offering free MOTs for life (mine or the car's??)Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
No further on as had to wait for arrival of Dad and sash cord. Hoping to get upstairs back together this week though. Not a NSD as dowel and cord will cost a bit. Am I spelling that right? dowl? dowel?
Watched its me or the dog and blubbed my eyes out as a spaniel was PTS for biting the children. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Hi, pammy good to see you. "see" you anyway. Yeah I think most of what she does is pretty good and I've just read her book which is fairly sensible and actually contains some good advice *i think*. We're planning on getting a puppy in feb and so getting prepared, since our last dog was a proper asbo dog. Still, I thought Gina Ford's book was good until I got a baby!
You're right, feels like a baby boom.
Just saw a news story on yahoo about mortgage rates dropping, is it time to reinstate the "ditch the fix?" calculations??Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Noticed your question about the 3d scan - lilac was saying she would need it now as they recommend to do it then while there is still a bit of room around the baby. The later you go the less you can see them doing as there is less space for them to move about. You could probably still find out gender at 34 week scan.
Clothes - if you both had boys i bet in the 5 weeks time difference some clothes would be ready to bounce across. No fighting necessary ladies. I have quite a lot of stuff.0 -
Brilliant, thanks on both counts, Michelle. On the topic of wishing the year away, I have 12 weeks and 2 days left at work!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
