Third attempt at this post, laptop crashing every few mins.
3 hours' painting done. Log man has been (£90, eek!), and paid a tenner for three weeks' ballet lessons.
Watching strictly with the girls in a minute, well one of them watches and one "performs".
Was Willy Wonka good?? I feel guilty really, I should be able to fix things myself at my age. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Ten o'clock and I'm painting again, no matter what. Have to get it finished today, and the week's washing, ironing and organisisng of clothes, DD2's school application, prep for a governors' meeting, marking...Sunday day of rest???
Hope everyone has a good day. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Whoever said Sunday was a day of rest wasn't a mum of young kids were they.
I did the school application thing online for my DS1 earlier in the week. Glad it is just done now as it is something i had been meaning to do for a few weeks now.
Good luck getting all that done today.Remember to rest. Don't want you falling ill again.

Thanks, Michelle at least we're all in it together!
The school application doesn't excite me, she will be four and a day when she starts, which I feel is way to young, shoulda kept my knees together another day!! Also the teachers are mediocre, despite the intake and parental support being fab.
Still I might be glad she's at school when her little brother or sister is 6 months old. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Delurking to say Hi. I read all the MFW diaries, but rarely post, so thought I'd come out of the woodwork and start getting to know you all as I'm starting my own journey of mortgage freeness.
I've just filled out the online forr for DD2 for school next year as well. She will only be four and 3 months when she starts, part of me is dreading it, but part of me is relishing the peace lol.0 -
You all seem to have kids the same age
I am so glad I am past the school entering age, some of you will remember the hassle I had getting the kids in where I wanted. I was so close to doing just about anything!!! Stressful time. Next will be senior school but we live about 3 minutes walk from it so hoping we dont have any hassle there. The only hassle I will get it from DD if her friends are going elsewhere, But I have 2 years to sweat that out!
Day of rest?? Is there such a thing when you have kids?MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

My DS was 4 last month so i am pretty sure he is ready. To be honest, DS2 is May for his birthday, and i know now that he is ready for going to nursery like DS1 is. I can't wait for September apart from the fact i will have 3 school runs a day to do.
The teachers on the other hand might not like having both my monkeys in the same room.
School might be hard at first, but i bet she surprises you. And as for the parent support thing, i think all schools need that regardless of how good the teachers. When that is missing that is when it is tough. I like my school and teachers, but a number of the other parents seem to be less desirable judging by the colourful language they choose to use when young kids are around. The school itself though got outstanding in ofsted 2 years ago. I really hope he gets a place as i need them both to be at the same school for easiness, and i know the familiarity will be essential to DS1 to help him settle. He has found the past few weeks at nursery bad enough leaving me.0 -

3 school runs?? Quotable quotes from the headteacher here include
"You can't get better at Maths with practice, you can either do it or you can't"
and
"How can I improve the standard of writing when I don't have any examples of good writing?"
Anyway, I became a governor to try to move things on a bit, so you never know...
All the first coat is done in DD1's room, the rest of the house is devastation...and I felt really dizzy up on a chair to do the high bits.
Lunch next, then second coat. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
The blessed painting is done, at least done until we have daylight again and I see the bits I missed.
DH has until about 4 to stack logs, then he has to put up DD1's bed, so I can make it up.
Laura Ashley paint, used only one tin, 2.5 l and the room is the size of the average sitting room. Pretty good. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Got a NSD to report yesterday and today should be also. DD1 is in her new room.
I have a feeling there may be bad MIL health news today and that DH will be in bits, hate the feeling of impending doom.
Nothing to be done, though, but wait. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0
