That cake looks awesome! Is is evil of me to want to be a fly on the wall when you make it so I can see you covered in food colouring and buttercream and swearing because it's collapsing? Or is that just what I'd do when making it?!:rotfl:

I slept in today, I was an hour late for work! :o I didn't even realise for ages, I thought it was 8.10 then I actually looked at the clock on the oven properly and saw it was 9.10! I'm supposed to be at work for 8.30! Ooops! OH was fast asleep too so I had to wake him up as he had to catch the bus at half past to get to his theory test, then he rang me and said that the bus didn't turn up so he missed the test! £31 down the drain! Grrr, what a bad morning! Where are the biscuits?!

Oooh on a positive note I dug out my Tesco vouchers last night and I've got £22.50, and £3.50 in expired vouchers so I'm going to ask for them to be renewed. I'm not sure what to get with them though, I could get Goldsmiths vouchers as I've seen the wedding ring I'd like in there and I can't find it anything like it elsewhere for less, but it's £399. So even with my vouchers it'll still be £309 (or £295 if I can use my expired vouchers) which is still loads more than what we wanted to pay. But I want it! I thought I'd just get a plain band but my engagement ring is kind of pinched in around the diamond so there's a massive gap between the diamond bit and the wedding band, it looks stupid, wishbone rings don't look right either. This ring looks good because the twist fits in just nicely. I wish we'd thought about this when picking out the ring and got a set! :p

Lovely cake! Today's my day off so I'm catching up on all the freelance work. Well that was the plan but to be honest, I'm not really got much done.

Birdie - What a disaster of a morning you had! Hope you didn't get it too much trouble at work.

Where are you all? I look forward to catching up on the gossip at a lunchtime and there are no new posts!

Payday today, haven't had time to look at it yet though - left the house at 7 to get the train to work. Have had a right morning with all the snow, only about 6" here but its still an utter pain.

Still have slim hopes of picking the car up this weekend, but we were planning to go down to Leeds to see friends and go to a concert, but that may need to be knocked on the head.

Just got home from work myself! Thank god I was only working a half day because I feel terrible - all my sinuses are blocked, I cant hear out my right ear and my throat feels like a piece of sandpaper! Apart from that I'm great :rotfl:

No snow here yet, but I am sure its only a matter of time...

    Afternoon,

No snow here ...but then we never seem to get much in London.

That is a shame about the car Dinah.

I am travelling down to Bournemouth tomorrow to the to do a presentation about my company and to get them to apply for work experience and jobs. I did a similar one a few months ago so should be alright, but a bit scary all the same!

Hello! Been a bit manic this morning at work, I swear if I get asked another stupid question I'll explode!

It was really snowy earlier but now the sun's shining, I wish the weather would make its mind up!

Sorry to hear you're not so well Flower, get snuggled up on the sofa with some comfort food!

I'm sure your presentation will be great Wendz, it'll be a nice trip out too!

I finally finished decorating the buckets for OH's advent calendar last night. It looks really sweet if I do say so myself! I also got out my advent house and got all excited for Christmas! OH has accused me of 'sneak decorating' because odd Christmassy bits keep cropping up but it's not on purpose, promise! ;)

  • Haha, it's funny the things you miss when you're abroad - when I was living in France the smell of newsprint would send me wild for Fish & Chips, even though they haven't been wrapped in newspaper since about 1986!

No snow here. I felt quite left out!

Only a quick post from me as I'm going to have to be up early for a work training thing in the morning and it's a major trek across town.

On a slightly cheeky note, one of my freelance gigs is setting up and maintaining a money saving blog based around vouchers, discount codes etc and I wondered whether any of you would mind checking it out and offering feedback if you've got any? Link is in my profile and big thanks to anyone who wants to offer feedback (just PM it if you have anything to say, positive or constructive criticism!).
