You'll have a fabulous time Birdie, and I'm sure you'll pay it off in no time at all! What flowers did you get?

Those flowers are gorgeous Poolie, very classic!

I keep forgetting we start tomorrow, just keep thinking 'We'll start in July!' like it's months away :o

That's really sweet of the guys you work with to pay you some back Birdie! When you started the story I had a knot in my tummy thinking 'I bet they decided to split the bill..' I hate it when people do that. Speaking of meals, I need to call my Mum to let her know we're not going to my Dad's Birthday Meal. We've been looking over the menu and decided 1) Everything sounds friggen gross and 2) it's really overpriced. The cheapest main is £28  plus the cheapest nibbles either end and it's going to be £50+ each for a meal, plus drinks. We just can't afford to eat out of politeness.

Pfft, yeah right NIM! ;) You'll have to shout "You're stroooong!" at Dinah from the sidelines then whilst nursing your ankle and a beer!

You do right Cinny, you don't enjoy things like that when you know it's spending money you don't have anyway I think. What sort of food is it that's so gross, I'm intrigued?

I think we'll have the tickets paid off by August so it's all good! :)

I don't actually know what the flowers are called :o I got 3 fancy purple ones that look a bit tropical (not calla lilies or birds of paradise), the flowery bits look a bit plasticy IYKWIM, they're nice and unusual, never seen them before! Also got some white flowers which look like a mix between a white rose and freesia. No idea about names and such, I just pick pretty ones! :o

I don't blame you for not going to your Dad's birthday meal Cinny, that's a lot to pay for something you don't fancy! Just tell them that you don't spend that much on a month's shopping so why would you spend it on one meal! :p

Thinking about this bill-splitting last night the guy got it totally wrong too but no-one else would say anything and I didn't want to start arguing since I'm the new girl and the most junior one there but he made us all pay £40- 40 x 11 = £440, I'm sure he said the bill came to three-hundred-and-something and he checked with the waitress who said that the tip was included so she ended up with a whopping great tip because he was too drunk to split the bill properly! The only thing I hate more than splitting the bill is when the bill is split incorrectly!

Excuses! ;) My OH joined in once then gave up, he actually did what Tete suggested. Yelling at me from the sofa!

It's Japanese. But not nice japanese sounding things. Just, weird mixes of meat and it sounds like each main is basically the same dish but they decided to switch the meats around. I've called and told her that we didn't like the sound of the food and it's way out of our price range. So she said she'll find somewhere else, as my Sister wont be there for being in Cali she wants everyone else there. She also said she'd cover our food bill of the new restaurant, we just have to buy our own drinks. Which is really kind!

The flowers sound really pretty, Birdie! I don't know names either unless it's labeled on the bucket. When OH bought me some for my Birthday I was having to explain flowers to people :o It got to the point where I just showed them a picture on my phone :D

What's with Japanese restaurants being really expensive but sounding a bit gross? There are a couple of places around us we'd kind of like to try for the sake of trying them but we can't afford it because it might be horrid! That's nice of your parents to offer to pay for the meal, had a feeling they would - mine are like yours, they'll pay anything just to have their 'babies' with them! :)

That's very sweet of them, Cinny - if you go somewhere normal-priced then they will probably end up spending the same even paying for you and they'll get the added bonus of your company :) And yes, very sweet of the guys at your work Birdie! Gah, I hate it when people automatically assume you're splitting the bill and put you in that awkward position. I think a bit of my debt comes from flashing cash (which I didn't have) and being way too easy going about putting meals and things on my credit card and getting people to pay me back. Hope that doesn't sound arrogant, but it's such an easy habit to get into and you have to be much stronger to say "no, thanks, can't afford it" or "let's not split the bill" sometimes. Well done Cinny :)

ETA: Ooh yes, The Shrallenge begins tomorrow! I've got the day off, so I'm planning to get Jillian out of the way first thing and then I'm going to see a friend who does gorgeous letterpress stationery about wedding things :Dand then I'm going out for lunch with OH :o

I wanted to do it in the morning too - get it out of the way! But I have to be out by 8:30 again, so don't have the time for a bath afterwards. Plus work gets a little sweaty in this heat and I don't want to go too the shops smelling like a foot! I'll have to have it looming over me all day and do it in the evening.

Have a lovely lunch with your OH Poddle! I'm not planning on changing my eating habits to be honest, so don't need to put it in grey :D

It is really kind of them, they do sound just like Birdie's parents :) I told them we'd put what can afford in anyways, just pick somewhere that at least has the option of 'normal' food :o

Just had to spend £15 on a new lawn mower cable. We borrow my parents' mower once a month, and it's normally OH's job but I was being all 'I am Woman!' and went to do it myself. But I slipped on some wet grass the mower hadn't picked up. Pulling the mower over the cable, ripping it. :o Which in turn blew the fuse in the kitchen *ahem* Somehow I managed to unwrap the cable from around the blades without OH seeing (he was cutting the grass on the drive) and he currently believes the cut in the cable was there before I used it and my parents are 'very silly' for letting us use it in that state  I told him I ordered the new cable because it 'they are kind enough to let us borrow it' Tumtetum!

Yep, the £140 was for a colour too. And they brewed me (not sure that's the right word..) my own special shampoo. It was fun, but crazy overpriced.

Hope you have fun in Bicester Village, Zig! I always hear people go on about it but I don't really know what on earth it is. I just think of Lakeside Outlet in Doncaster, but I can imagine Bicester Village is a lot classier!

Sounds snazzy having your own shampoo 'brewed' for you! Bicester Village was pretty upmarket - pretty much all designers: Jimmy Choo, Prada, Gucci etc. I was tempted by a Radley bag (£150 instead of £300) and some Jimmy Choos but I was restrained and got a dress from Coast for an upcoming wedding - £35 instead of £145 :D

Haha! I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face! Good on you for giving it a go I reckon! I'm rubbish - I'm leaving all that to OH. :o

Thank you for all the congratulations on here and facebook - you're all lovely :)

Poolie those flowers are gorgeous. My favourites are white lillies - love the smell. Bath Spa is amazing if you are able to go.

I am so not looking forward to the start of the Shrallenge - but positive thinking, I am strooooooooong. :D
