Well done for passing Zig! I'm really pleased for you! The savings you've got are brilliant too!
Last time I had my hair cut it cost me nothing... looked like it though! :rotfl: It was just before my friends wedding and was too long and too ratty so she asked her (ex hairdresser) friend to come round and trim it as a favour, but she literally just chopped off the ends and cut a dodgy side fringe in (which the hairdresser putting my hair up on the wedding day fixed for me!). I really need to go get it cut professionally, but I hate having to pay £30 for a trim!
Can't believe the cost of your insurance renewal Tete, that's mental! Hope you manage to find a good deal and to go through Quidco.
Went out for dinner with work last night and it was a bit up-and-down money wise! I was really careful with what I'd ordered, making sure I picked from the cheapest section (but what I had was gorgeous), only getting a starter and a main, sharing a bottle of wine with another girl and talking her out of ordering a second bottle, no pudding or coffee which I really wanted but figured I'd spent enough and didn't want to get caught out for not having enough on me as I had £30 and worked out that my meal had cost £23 so was quite happy with my little self. Everyone else had been ordering loads of drinks, they all had 3 courses, 6 of the 11 people had ordered steaks so the bill arrives and everyone agrees to just split it and all put £40 in! I was gutted! We went to a bar afterwards and I was waiting to get served and one of the chaps said that he'd get my drink as he'd noticed how unfair the bill sharing had been to me and I pouted and said that I should have had pudding and coffee and another bottle of wine since I'd paid for everyone else to do that then 10 minutes later he came over and snuck £30 into my hand from him and a couple of the other guys saying that it's not fair that a trainee should have to subsidise managers and contractors who get paid 'silly money'! How nice is that?! Also means that my meal only cost me £10 so I'm happy!

Morning,
Have been extremely busy. Finally payday and to top it off bonus day! Have moved money around already and paid £300 to the CC since it is at £880 - Mainly due to paying for the car insurance by card in one go rather than monthly as the APR rate is huge on monthly. Although insurance company have made a screwed up as they say we only have 2 years no claims due to Mrs Poolie only having full license 2 years but the paperwork from previous insurer shows 4 years. Maybe a refund when they get round to it.
Have been trying to let the flat out in Scotland but no joy so considering a letting agency which I have contacted. Fees are 7% + VAT rather than 10% + VAT and they think they can get the amount required. Just need to consider it further as will need to get extra keys cut and also electrical safety certificates (it has a gas one already).0 -
Hi Poolie, long time no see - will you be joining us on the Shrallenge? Shame your flat's not in Hartlepool, I would have had it and we could have avoided fees!
Hey Zig, well done again on your 2.1you must feel brill - and the deposit is fab too - it's all go eh?
Birdie I thought that guy was only going to buy you a drink and was going to get angry on your behalf "If he noticed you were paying too much he should have said so at the time!!" but seeing as you got your tea for a tenner I'll let him off!
Got full use of my legs again today finally, bring on Jillian!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Little bit of good money news. The host for D's original website were trying to get another years hosting out of us and have been known to use baliffs. Just got an email from them backing down...think I might go after an apology for the harassment. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0

Morning all,
Congratulation Zig on the degree, bet you are so chuffed! Also well done on the 10k saved up, that is amazing and won't be long before you have enough.
My hair normally costs about £28 for a cut and blowdry but haven't been since before Poppy was born, trying to grow it a bit more again though now.
Birdie - I hate it when you are careful what you choose and then they split it anyway! That was really nice of them to give you some money back though!
Poolie - yay for payday and bonus!
Tete - that is rubbish about the insurance. Is so expensive!
Good news NIM, make sure you get that apology.
Not much news here. Treated myself to a few bits last night off Miss selfridge sale online with the money i put aside to get some new clothes after baby. Whether or not they will fit me is another question. Off to baby music group in a bit.0 -
I will get onto moving it brick by brick
Thanks, much appreciated
Wendz that's really cheap for your hair, is that in London? My friend always gets her hair cut when she's visiting family up north - she goes to Toni and Guy because T&G up North is cheaper than any normal salon in London apparently!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
No in hertfordshire so not too bad, Is a local small salon by my flat but is pretty good!0
