    Happy Monday everyone! :hello:

I'm going to be the first to admit The Shrallenge failure :( I had a wobbly jumping jack on Saturday when somehow my knee landed in on itself. I don't know how it happened, but I hobbled through the rest of the level and smothered it with a bag of frozen sweetcorn. Then that combinded with being on my feet for 4 and a half hours Saturday night, and forcing myself to run through the village my leg just didn't hold up on Sunday. Was sore as two sore things this morning so I don't know if I'll do it today either, I'm scared I'll make it worse!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend though :D Spent Saturday with OH before I went to work, which was really fun despite the painful knee! Even got a free punnet of strawberries so I've got strawberry jelly with me today :) Spent Sunday with my Grandparents, and managed to squeeze in a little Mildred Pierce before OH came home. When he made me watch Transformers :(

Little news on my Gramps. He did a complete turn yesterday and is in agony again. Could barely cut what little food he ate at dinner, and fell asleep straight after. He's off to the Doctors this morning so I'm going to call a little later and see what they said. I think it sounds a lot like CFS but then I'm not a Doctor. Unless being a Google Doctor merits for anything?

Well ladies I've found out I'm not gonna be taking part in the shrallenge. Finally went to see the sawbones on friday, I've torn the ligaments (sp?) in my ankle and am to take it easy for at least 4 weeks.

Ireland was...interesting. I'll update properly later on, just mooching about waiting for some data atm.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

That's nice that your brother will be so close Cinny, although it'll probably mean he'll be bugging you as much as you bug him! ;) It's really funny how quickly boys can change their minds about leaving home though. One of our best friends is moving into his girlfriends house at the end of the month and he's gone from being dragged from his Mum's kicking and screaming to planning how they're going to do up the garden and looking at paint samples!

Bad news about the knee Cinny and the ankle NIM! We're a cursed lot! Hope both feel better soon :)

I did the Shred on Friday and was suitably exhausted at the end! Too tired to even giggle at her telling me I'm strong! :) Didn't do more over the weekend but we got a Kinect yesterday (swapped the Wii for it, we've been meaning to do it for ages), it is brilliant! You can't cheat on it though as it tracks your whole body, so no sitting down and just wiggling a controller when you get tired! We played on it for about 2 and a half hours yesterday afternoon, jumping, ducking and dogding and we were so tired we went to bed at 9.30! Aching all over today so it must be doing some good. :) OH is going to get a sports game for it and quit the gym, he figures that football on a Tuesday, Rugby on Saturday, a couple of runs and bike rides (once he gets a bike!), an hour on Kinect a day and heavy lifting for 8 hours Mon-Fri is as much exercise as he's going to need so that'll save £30 a month!

Off to the races tonight on a work jolly, 2 free drinks (big spenders!) and a hog roast, plus we've got some money from our 'Fat Club' to put bets on the horses to make it more fun (without having to risk our own cash). Should be good, I haven't been to the races in years, probably because the last time I went I didn't win a bean!

We ended up going to our tight friend's on Saturday, much to my disappointment. We did make sure we went to another friends first for a BBQ so we didn't eat when we got there but blimey it was boring at the tight's house, properly ruined my night! I hadn't realised that it was the girl's birthday on Saturday though (was convinced it was tomorrow and hadn't logged into Facebook that day for it to tell me!) so I didn't have a present for her, or even wish her a happy birthday as I just didn't know, it took about an hour to twig! Ooops! Feel quite bad about that. But she got her revenge by making me sit through an excruciatingly bad party... I don't know what it is but it's just impossible to have fun at their house...

Sorry to hear about your Grandad Cinny. Is he able to take anything for the pain? I am very fond of my Nanny. Close wouldn't be the right work because she is mad (in a good sense) but she is fond of me and I of her. I hate to see her looking so frail when I go to visit.

Ooh gossip from Ireland NIM - do tell!!!

Hope your not in too much pain with the ligaments.

Tonight sounds like it will be great fun Birdie! Hope you win a few bets!

I think other people probably feel resentful and uptight at their house if they have been asked to bring stuff along. I would never go to someones house empty handed but I also don't need to be reminded to bring stuff. It would make me not want to go either.

I have to say NIM, tearing your ankle ligaments just to get out of The Shrallenge is a little extreme :p

Have fun tonight Birdie! Fingers crossed you're lucky :D

So, it was kind of a BBQ Birthday Party? To me, that makes it a little bit more tight them asking for food donations!

As for my Brother, he's already got me 'helping' ringing people up for prices and has told me I'm helping him clear the house on Sunday *rolly eyes* One thing is, he's going to have to dig up his front garden so I might just have to re-home the roses :D

And thanks CMD & Birdie :) Just had a call from my Gran to say they're off to the Hospital so he can have some xrays done. I get what you mean though CMD, it is horrible to see them so frail though, with my Grandad it just feels like he's still 25 on the inside and he's just so utterly annoyed he's suddenly trapped in this old shell.

ETA: Forgot to say, I need to call Hovis today about winning the Mini seeing how I haven't heard from BMW. I feel sick

Cinny - hope your Grandad is ok! My Grandma is the same, she gets so frustrated she can't do all the things she used to.

Sorry to hear about the injuries, poor excuses not to do the shallenge...says the girl not doing it hehe.

Birdie - the bbq sounds like it wasn't great, annoying you ended up having to go.The kinect looks really good, would love to have a go on one.

    Intrigued about Ireland goss.

No exciting news from me, pretty boring weekend and been up since 5am so feeling slightly zombie like.

Hope you get some good news from Hovis Cinny! Keep us updated! Have you told everyone about it now?

The BBQ was a birthday party so yeah, I thought that it should have been catered too! At least our friends who were the ones who made us go with them had a rubbish time so next time we get an invite they'll decline and we won't get dragged along again! One of their parents friends actually brought his own ketchup so I think he must have had the same thought as us about how much they were expected to bring with them!

Hope you have a nice restful day Wendz... 5am starts do not sound good!

I think a bit of my debt comes from flashing cash (which I didn't have) and being way too easy going about putting meals and things on my credit card and getting people to pay me back. Hope that doesn't sound arrogant, but it's such an easy habit to get into and you have to be much stronger to say "no, thanks, can't afford it" or "let's not split the bill" sometimes. Well done Cinny :)

Join the club. I actually find money a very uncomfotable subject to talk about with friends, and wouldn't ask them for it, I'd just say 'it's only a tenner, doesn't matter'
I weighed myself this morning too and am 4lbs over the top end of my 'happy' range - it's because the last few weeks I've been using the 3 peaks as an excuse to eat like a pig, so I'm going to get started on a healthy eating plan as well from Monday (I've just made a huge batch of brownies so it's impractical at the moment :D). I want to lose about 7lbs...

Didn't you loose loads and loads in the last 6 months though? You were complaining you felt too skinny not so long ago.

Oh a spending diary would be a good idea but I'm never organised enough to actually do it. This morning I spent £4.76 on 2 red bulls and 2 diet cokes - for once I can actually call these things quite nessessary as I was falling asleep at the wheel after arriving back late last night and getting up early today. I've pulled around a bit but still feel like a zombie. I like your spreadsheet idea Tete, I might ask NIM if he'd keep one for us - I can email him the spends, he can enter them, colour them and wag his finger.

Got very nesty in Ireland, don't know why, I just really wanted to be coming home to a nice house. Not nessisarily snazzy just tidy, free from tools and dust free. However we were talking about it and we're going to get some quotes for extending the kitchen. The dining room needs replacing as it leeks and most of the double glazing has failed and is misting, and there is no point spending £1000 on a lounge floor if we'll be able to afford to extend the kitchen around in 2 years and need to redo it. In which case we'd just get a cheapy £100 carpet just to have something there. We'd love to have a kitchen diner rather than a dining room off the lounge - it would also open the house up a lot more to the garden (aka wilderness).

Why did you go to the tight 'friend''s house Birdie?! Stay strong life's too short to be bored on a Saturday night.

Ireland was by and large fab, great weather, food, 9/10 relatives were hassle free and a pleasure to spend time with. I loved NIMs cousin as well, she's great fun to be with. Also got a tour of all the old childhood haunts which was nice to put into context. Didn't approve of NIM going in with a load of random horses though. As ever the trip was emotionally knackering though. When we got back and we said it was nice to be back and mum asked NIM was it nice just to see people or did he feel drawn to go back there and he anwered both her face fell, and she quite quietly asked 'but you're not going to leave me are you?'. Mum is quite clingy but then again we're a really tight family and neither me nor her would cope not meeting up every week, especially once we decide to have a family I really feel like I'd be lost without her. Economy/employment situation aside I enjoy visiting and it's a beautiful country, but I do feel very isolated over there.

Asked mum about the money situation for the France holiday last night too, and it was weird, she just said nothing at all. Not even 'we'll talk later'. Before it was booked NIM and I said we couldn't afford to pay all the petrol there and back, and food there, and the £600 for our share of accomodation, and mum said that my brother and gf would travel with us, and therefore she'd pay half of our petrol bill. So I just suggested instead of that she pays for the food for the house while there (which won't come to £200ish for 2 people) as I don't fancy being in the supermarket arguing over cheaper food and fancy food all the time.

Hope the doc can help your grandad Cinny. I had ME a few years ago (what CFS is called over 6 months) and I know it does strike a lot of older people, it's debilitating enough if you're young so when you're a bit more frail it would be awful. Pain is rarely a primary symptom though, it's more aches and itching rather than strong pain. Exhaustion, weakness and sleeping a lot more are all big factors. Hopefully it's a bug or something though that he can get shifted. Dr Google always diagnoses the worst.
