Oh how lovely is Ethelbert!!! Have you had a lovely holiday, scrap sorting aside? :)

I did! Was gorgeously sunny, did rain a few days but nothing too terrible. I uploaded the pictures to Flickr last night if anyone wants to have a butchers at the set. We even came back with tans from going to Weymouth, which is surprising as I don't tan easily at all.

Oh, and the 3 books were really good. I preferred The Perfect Lie and A Vintage Affair to Before I Forget. I normally get really into whatever book I read but I just kind of skimmed that one. The Perfect Lie was my favourite, really haunting but like most books the end felt really rushed just to get the plot tied up! Vintage Affair was a little more believable, so I'd say read that one too if you can!

Wow cinny sounds like you had a fab time and those books sound good :)
How did you get the metal for the scrap man? sounds like a good skill to have lol! I saw them doing that on the apprentice this week and thought that it looked like quite a quick little earner if you know how to do it! I don't have any scrap though unfortunately!

We get our scrap metal from jobs we do, the stuff we'd typically throw in the skip. Other than that the only way I know of getting metal is to drive around in a tranny van yelling for it! I know it sounds old school, but I know of 3 sets of lads who do pretty well off the back of it working our village and where my Grandparents live. You just have to be pretty bold, check peoples skips or knock on doors. Depends how much you want it, Like I said, I just deal with metal left over from jobs I'm not much help!

11lbs is loads, but if you're still not back to your wedding weight, that must have been some honeymoon haha! :D

Ditto Birdie, 4/5 is still good surely - what's the point in a five star system if it's so black and white?

I reported one, didn't see the second, must only take for a couple of people to press it for it to be removed?

The food in Dubai was just that good!

NIM is going to contact ebay, see if talking to a person knocks some sense into them.

Oh no, you didn't! I think Birdie is just missing out on Wedding talk, so we started fancying mine up :D But like Birdie and Zig say, chances are it'll be really low key and I'll just pop on one day and announce it! You all know me too well just from the internet I swear :o But Lara, that dress is stunning!

Good luck with the dinner tonight, flowers are always a lovely touch IMHO!

But oh Dinah, I feel so glum when you talk about weight. Just to think how horrified you'd be if you woke up in my body suddenly one morning :rotfl: I do have the pleasure of owning one very squishy belly! And it's crazy you've been blocked for a 4/5 star rating, like seriously?! That's a friggen good rating! eBay are confusing tiddlers.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend :D

Dinner went really well thank you, he's 'gifted' about £800 of stock and equipment to me! My dad is also loaning me the last £960 or so I need to start up, which means this time next week I should be firing on all cylinders.

I'm horrified enough to wake up in my body Cinny! I had a bit of a 'thing' with my weight when I was in school, and I still struggle a lot with not looking as I feel I should, it's only NIM being so complemenary and the fact my BMI says healthy that stops me spiralling.

NIM had a bit of a quieter day MSing yesterday, only £70s worth. My dad and grandad were laughing at him that he'd used his Will Hill bet to put £5 on the USA v Panama match because they said Panama didn't have an international football team. Guess who hammered the USA and made us £60?! I love it when free bets pay off. First thing NIM said was 'shall we go out for dinner tonight' but then 2 mins later he said 'actually, we're better paying it off the debt' - I think I've broken him!

Mum and dad FINALLY paid us for the car last night, £900 when they owe £942, but apparently dad is only allowed to take £900 a day (odd ammount) out of his business account. £550 of that is going into my business account as start up funds, the other bit is paying the last bit of the New York holiday balance due by the 20th. Going down to the bank(s) tomorrow to pay it in.

    Actually it was Panama
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Oooh, that's amazing on the money making and business front.

I had such a good hen night! We did so many fun things. First of all we had a hula hoop-ing lesson in the park, where we made absolute spectacles of ourselves. It was great fun and absolutely awesome exercise. Then we went to this vintage hairstyle hairdressing place where we all got up-dos from the 1950s and 60s! I got a flicked out hairdo like Peggy from Mad Men and some lovely make up with flicked-out eyeliner and red lips. My friend got a proper beehive. We all looked so cool walking around together. Then we went to a cocktail place for drinks, and on to dinner - and finished the night in a karaoke booth. It was one of the best days ever.

That sounds like a brilliant hen do Lara! Have you got photos?! I'd love to get all done up 60s style and I love Mad Men purely for the look of it all! So glad you had a lovely time, did your sisters get along with everyone and enjoy themselves?

Great money news Dinah! Go-live is this week isn't it? Exciting!

We paid off our honeymoon on Saturday, nice to know we're definitely going! :) We got vouchers through work to pay the balance as I can get a little discount so we saved £55 :money:

I'll have to make a note of those books Cinny. I started reading a God-awful chick-lit after finishing 'So Much For That' which was very good albeit very heavy going, I fancied something light but had to give in after 2 chapters as it was just terrible, it was the 5 afternoon movie of books! I've started on Afterwards which is looking to be as good a page turner as Sister, which I devoured when we were away!

That sounds like a perfect hen night Lara! Like Birdie said, I hope everyone got along fine. :)

I think I remember you mentioning that book Birdie, will have to see if my Library have it! Can be a bit hit and miss with them, I've often come out with the wrong book after asking for so-and-so and feeling rude saying no when they bring the wrong books out :o Leave it for a week, take it back 'Oh yes, was a really good read!' And after months I'm still waiting for them to get a certain Stephen King book in.

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's actually pretty warm here. Was a little upset walking to work, the house with the chickens I like to coo at has magically upped and left in the past week. Well, the chickens not the house! And put up really high fences, I saw a bit of a pirate ship in there but no chickens! I don't think my bcawing was that offencive to the chicks!

Anyways, I have a little news! Not in the way of secretly getting married, having a baby or deciding to become a chair. But I'm starting my own business. Just a little cleaning thing, domestic and hopefully getting some showhouse contracts. Will fit in around my current office hours. Although I was talking to the other office woman last night and she's on about leaving once her exams are through but I'd still be able to fit things around those hours. But anyways, I've picked a name and I'm going to start making flyers and posters tomorrow night and I've been given a free website to set up. Hopefully I'll get a couple bites from posters, as I know there's a want for cleaners in the villages around here. Quite excited! It's going to be like Sunshine Cleaning but without the gross crime clean ups and hopefully I won't turn into Emily Blunt and set a house on fire! Woo!

Cinny, that's very exciting news! It should be right up your street too -being such a domestic goddess! - and great that you can fit it around your office hours. I look forward to hearing how it goes! I bet you'll make super cute flyers :)

Lara, I LOVE the sound of your hen night! I might have to steal some of those ideas and get some deets from you. Hope your sisters enjoyed it too. Pictures, please!
