Now that is a machine. I think I could twist her arm. Only need to find the cash now.

    Hey everyone

So sorry I have been offline for years because I'm up at Uni and left my laptop power cable at home and all sort of toher necessary items. Think I left most of my brain in Kampala.

Poddle - CONGRATS!! That's wonderful news. That DOTD is gorgeous. Lemme post up my dress and BM dresses. Yes our wedding is so soon - just over 8 weeks. Eeeek!

Hmm I can't post a link to the BM dresses atm - be back later with more hopefully!

Very wow dress, you'll look fab.

For some reason your car tax problem popped into my head on the way to work Dinah (probably because I only just put my new disc in yesterday so I've been driving around with an expired disc for a week!), did you get that all sorted out in the end?

Yep in the end, I felt a bit proud because we could pay for a full years worth not just 6 months, which is one of my tests of 'how financially boned are you'!

ALSO we have sort of been secretly planning our own wedding, but we popped into Birmingham's jewellery quarter on the way home and I'm now the proud owner of a very beautiful diamond and 'official' fiance. We've already set the date and booked the venue! Exciting:j

So I shall probably be asking lots of advice from all of you and cluttering up Dinah's thread with links and confessions of my MSE (and not-so-MSE) spends :)

YEYYYYYY!!!!! :j:j:j:j:j Congratulations on becoming official AND booking a venue - want to see a picture of the bling please!
Yikes Dinah, scary but exciting, are you on track timewise with it all?

I don't know! I need to get the packaging sorted and the next run printed as the first 8000 are apparently all already sold! I'm meeting with my supplier/mentor tomorrow for dinner, so have a big long list of things to sort out before he gets too far into pouring wine down my neck.

Dinah - fantastic news about the business. You must be so excited. Do we get a sneak preview of the website or are you waiting to launch it?

I only had my first sneek peek this week, currently its a site with no words or pictures. Might send you a sneek peek nearer the time though. Need to write my words over the weekend for the site - my least favourite job. Give me a picture over a paragraph any day.

PS. Dinah, meant to say, SO exciting about the company launch! Will you have a distributor or supplier? I was in 2 shops today which would be perfect stockists, but they're local (Brighton) chains. Let me know if you'd like me send you the details :)
Please that'd be great. My dad is going to be doing some sales for me in the next few weeks and I mentioned this to him today and he said if we get people interested he'll happily make an appointment and see them on his way back from one of his many trips to Bath sometime. Yet another thing that needs to go on my to do list for the business - make a spreadsheet to start making a list of potential contact/client details in.

Moneywise things are ticking along, splitting all the money into different pots is working well for us, although having something in the spends and food pots for the month would have made life easier as there are always needed bits (milk, veg, headlight bulb, new key cut, NIMs football subs, my work lottery pool etc)

Sorry for not posting more, work has blocked MSE forums it seems (I can read but it won't let me post) and I'm just so busy atm I don't always find time on an evening, but I do love catching up x

How annoying Dinah, I dread the day when I come into work and can't get on any of my favourite websites :D Sounds like it's all systems go on the business though, fab!

Lara that dress is gorgeous you'll look amazing - loving the tiny buttons all down the back :)

I had a text message yesterday lunchtime from a friend saying "Hi thought I'd let you know, me and xxx got married this morning at the registry office. We didn't tell anyone beforehand as we wanted to keep it low-key"!! How low-key can you get?! They've been engaged for years and have a baby due in the autumn but it was still a shocker - she's the sort of girl who makes a massive fuss about being a princess on her birthday etc so it's strange that she's opted for a tiny wedding. I think it's really romantic though.

Did you get sorted with the bag for your parents Birdie? It is a bit bad that you forgot seeing as it'll be mostly filled with pressies for you I bet!

Went on a training walk with my 3 peaks peeps last night, was REALLY HARD going :( I honestly don't know how they can go so fast. I like to stop and catch my breath occasionally! I'm sort of torn - I know I can physically cope with the mountains, it's just the speed - I don't want to hold the others up but at the same time I really really want to do this challenge :o Two weeks to go, going to hit the stepper in the gym as well as my weekend walks, and hope for the best!

Why must workplaces block our happy sites?! I don't know why my work hasn't blocked MSE yet but I'm so glad it hasn't, I miss having Blogger though!

Has anyone got this month's Glamour with the Benefit freebies? They've got Benetint Tete, might be better than the R&M Face Gloss?! Worth a try for £2. I got 2 copies so I could get Benetint and Posietint, wanted to try them for a while but a bit scared of buying them in case it makes me look like a clown so I'm quite pleased! I've already got the High Beam otherwise I'd have 3 copies of the same magazine on my hands! ;)

Hope you manage to get everything finished for the website this weekend. I hate the feeling of having to write something important! I somehow talked myself into making a leaflet for my Dad about one of his products and I just keep looking at the blank page and finding something else that 'desperately' needs doing instead!

ETA: Crossed posts Tete! Going to take the bag round tonight, its already in my car so I can't forget, along with an ipod cable as Mum has lost hers (probably threw it out thinking it wasn't important!) Like you say, it'll probably come home full of presents so I'm quite happy to make the trip! ;)

Shocker about your friends getting married! My Aunt (on my Dad's side) did that and my Uncle (on my Mum's), I suppose that some people just want to be married, which is nice :)

I'm sure you'll be fine with the 3 Peakers... I'm sure they were just showing off, they can't go that fast consistently!

Ahhhhh I'm so glad it's Friday! Today is the last day of my course, and then I head back down to London. It's my hen weekend, so my sisters and friends will be coming late this evening. I'm not that close with my sisters since they had their own families so I'm a bit nervous. I hope they like everything and feel comfortable. Eeeeeek!

My friend has kept everything a total surprise (well OH let a big clue slip so I think we'll be having some karaoke!)

Dinah that is such good news about your business, how exciting!

Tete - I'm so full of admiration for your challenge. I'm sure it's going to go really well. You should definitely ask the group for a few breaks here and there. You're part of the team after all. But I think when the adrenaline hits you'll be flying up those peaks.

I did that last year when they were giving away It Stick, Eye Bright and Bad Gal Eyeliner! I even went into about 6 different shops looking for the last one! OH was getting really confused as everywhere he looked there was a copy of Glamour! :rotfl:

Have a fab weekend Lara! I'm sure it'll be great fun; don't worry about your sisters too much, this weekend is all about you! :D

Btw did I miss Cinny announcing she's enagaged?! I read her green wedding dress post (and the lovely loo roll dress) and flipped back a few pages looking for it but maybe I missed it? Huge congratualtions if so hon

Dinner with my mentor/publisher and his wife tonight. Went and got a bunch of flowers at a decent local florist as I think its always nice to bring something. NIM has to have the court documents submitted today too, but I have no idea how thats going as he isn't replying to texts, phone calls or emails!

Hmmm, yet he's on Facebook posting about zombie attacks?! Strange.

I don't think Cinny is officially engaged? If so I've missed it too, sorry!

Not a copy of Glamour to be found in town

Hope the dinner goes well tonight, are you still dieting?

No she's not (well, maybe it's happened on holiday?!), we're just counting our chickens! ;) I can honestly see it happening like Tete's friend, one day she'll be like, 'Oh, by the way, we're married now falala'

Let's just hope that NIM's silence means that he's working very hard on said documents!

ETA: Still plenty of Glamours here Tete, I can pick them up for you and post them if you want?
