Morning all,
Has not been a good week sleepwise with the little one so am a bit zombie like! Got to go have my blood tested for iron levels today. Stopped taking tablets as thought i was meant to and went to doctors yesterday who said that it would be very unlikely i would have made up my iron levels already so that probably hasn't helped my tiredness. Back taking tablets again now.
Hope the courses went well for everyone.
Cardigans sound like a bargain Cinny! I am planning on a shopping trip soon as haven't really bought any proper clothes (apart from maternity) since before i was pregnant.
Is Poppy still not liking the moses basket Wendz? Is it a cot or moses basket? Do you swaddle her?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

It's a moses basket. She has got a little better last few nights but still hasn't gone back to as good as she was. I bought a swaddle blanket but she doesn't seem to like it.0

I swaddled Max but only until he was 4 weeks old and he had to have his hands free. Do you have a gro bag for her? I found Max slept better with the gro bag?
Also this is supposed to be great:

Sorry to hear Poppy isn't sleeping well Wendz! I hope the tablets help you feel a little better too
A shopping trip sounds just like what you need! I'd of loved a full on trip but, you guessed it, the budget didn't allow for more than £10 this month on clothes. Tiddle hum!
Been attacking my 'to diy' pile this morning. Bleach 'designed' 2 tops, one as I never wore it and another after I spilt bleach on it carrying our shopping upstairs. Distressing some old black jeans, and an old pair I made into a skirt. But OH is complaining I'm making too much noise with the grater :A Off to have my hair cut in a few hours though, it really needs it!0 -

Thanks or the advice CMD. I have got a gro bag but only tried it once, might try again.
Those slumber bears look good as well, will definately think about getting one
Cinny - the diy clothes sound fab, you are very creative!0 -
Haha, no I'm not TPA! Why, is that the kind of stuff she did? I didn't really watch that show, I did see her on it scrubbing some jeans with a nail file though. But I'm more a rock and grater girl
And thanks Wendz, I figure I've got to be creative due to lack of pennies! I have a post going on my blog later for the bleach tops though if you want a looksie (think it's scheduled for 5:20 or something!)
Did you try Poppy with the gro bag Wendz? (Had a mental image of those compost bag you put tomatoes for a brief second!) Did it help her sleep any better?
Hope everyones having a nice Saturday. Off to Meadowhall in a bit, just finished scheduling a couple blog posts so thought I'd pop on here for a tick0 -
Hello, hope everyone's OK! Hope you're getting a bit more sleep Wendz - have you tried a bit of brandy in her bottle yet? (Or is that frowned upon these days?!)
Had another manic week at work, I barely have time to make/drink a cuppa let alone skive about on my usual internet haunts - just as I've moved desks to where no-one can see my screen too
Having a long weekend now to use up hols, went to the Lakes yesterday and did 4 fells - Three Peaks Challenge coming round fast but my knees seemed to hold up OK yesterday which was a relief. Got a bit wet though and had a bit of an embarrassing incident where I was stuck on a rocky crag bit and didn't dare move, luckily a man came along in the other direction and rescued me:o - I don't think there are many rocky crag bits on the Three Peaks though...
How much longer in Kampala Lara? That tea shoppe sounds brill - I remember on my year abroad in France, the first time we found somewhere that did English tea with milk not lemon we rejoiced!
Ah Cinny, any tips on scheduling? I've tried it and do what everyone says but it still just publishes regardless - technophobe-central!
Well I'm off to do a bit of sewing, got the bug at the mo, hope everyone's having a nice weekend xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Ooo it's nearly my last week in Kampala now Tete! I have got all of this coming week, then next Monday is my last day, and home on Tuesday. Can you believe 2 months has gone so quickly? I'm so excited and also very sad at the same time. Kampala is an awesome city. Fieldwork has gone very well - I have worked my back side off! But there's still a lot to do before the summer hiatus kicks in.
Ahh your three peaks challenge is coming up soon - very exciting. Also the Race for Life.... you'll be great! The weekend after I get home I'm going up to Uni and OH is coming with me. We will go on his first trip to the lakes and my second. You ladies know about the lakes - any tips? We will be travelling from Lancaster and we can either take the train or hire a car for the day.
Big hugs

Hello! Happy Monday!
The course you were on sounds interesting Dinah. A few years ago when my company was run by a guy who spent money like it was going out of fashion they built a £3m 'Sustainable Bulding Center' (yes, with the American 'er' in centre... annoying!) which was made from all 'green' products and is now a training centre for people wishing to work with renewable building products. If only I could be bothered to drive the 3 hours to go have a look!
I was very impressed with your bleachy t-shirts Cinny, meant to leave a comment last night but forgot! Oh no, I just tried to click the link to see if I could leave a comment now and work has blocked it! Noooooo! Why must they steal everything from us?!
I know I shouldn't laugh, but your mishap did make me giggle a bit Tete! Were you on your own? When are you doing the 3 Peaks? Oh and I love your pillowcase dresses, again, I forgot to comment so will do tonight!
Can't believe that you're on your last week in Kampala Lara! That's come round so quickly! I'm sure that your OH is getting quite giddy of the thought of having you home! With the Lakes I'd recommend taking a car so you can tootle about, you can't really go wrong with where you go because its all lovely and the towns are quite close to each other so if you don't like one, you get in the car and head to the next. Most of the fun is from driving around there!
The bridal shower on Friday was super, the bride was very surprised and loved it! I decorated my little heart out and made everyone tiaras to wear, we had loads of cake and wine. The games were really good fun, we played that game that you probably played in primary school where you draw a head, fold it over and pass it on to the next person who draws the body and so on and we were trying to draw the bride in her dress, got some funny pictures! I got a mad-lib off the internet of wedding vows and the girls all provided the missing words which came up with a funny result. I bought some little presents and wrapped them up in lots of fabric so no-one knew what they were and got some dice and set a timer for 10 minutes, every time a double was rolled they got to to pick a present, once the presents had all been chosen they had to steal from each other... it got brutal! LOL! Finally I blindfolded the bride and put a suitcase full of clothes and accessories in front of her and she had to get dressed in 3 minutes, watching a blindfolded girl wearing 1 flipflop on the wrong foot trying to figure out how to put a snorkel on is pretty amusing!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
