LOL, sounds healthy Dinah (although I'm not sure that suede is good for the digestion!)... Just eat all the stuff they recommend then sue the council when you put on weight! ;)

The Friday feeling has hit. I really don't want to be productive this afternoon but I've got someone breathing down my neck to finish some work... might have to rush it so I can spend the last hour or so on wind-down!

Hi all! Yikes work has been manic lately, really eats into my internet time! Not complaining though - a few months ago I wasn't certain I'd HAVE a job at this stage! Dinah are there not redundancies at your council? You'd think things like free fruit would be the first to go!

I'm NOT feeling too healthy today, full of a painful sinusy cold, am off work today anyway using up holidays so going to hole up for the weekend and try to shake it. Sewing my pillowcase dresses :) Hope everyone is well!

That does sound not so healthy Dinah. Free fruit is good though, we had it at work everyday. You had to be quick though as would go so quickly.

Tete - hope you feel better soon, sounds like a good plan for the weekend to make yourself feel better.

Yey Tete! Been wondering if you were still around or if all the baby talk had sent you running for the hills! I love reading your blog, I'm always so jelous of the wonderful things you make.

Only voluntary redundancies this year, we made £15.6m of cuts with no compulsary redundancies, which I think is quite good. The fruit is donated by a local grocer - as the lad handed it out told us every time we so much as glanced at a banana. Stress bananas and apples donated by the NHS, guess we paid to make the veggie bolagnaise and print the recipes though.

Really glad your job is safe x

Oooh I'm looking forward to seeing your pillowcase dresses Tete! :) Sorry you're not feeling well though, sounds nasty.

Is anyone watching Eurovision tomorrow?! OH loves it (think he's secretly a bit gay) so he's really hoping to be home from our friends afternoon BBQ in time to watch it, although one of the girls has asked to stay at ours so she doesn't have to drive home... don't know what to say, 'No you can't because we want to be at home under the slanket watching Eurovision by 8 o'clock!'

Thanks, they're not haute couture but I've enjoyed making them - they're really easy if anyone has a sewing machine and fancies helping out little third world girls!

Ah I'll be OK it's only a cold - I've never been ill for about two years, then got a really bad one right on Christmas, and another one now when I HAD to be in work last week - shocking timing! :(

That's really good Dinah about the redundancies, some of my colleagues' contracts ended but luckily they've been redeployed, just really glad we have these new contracts to work on now!

Oh god I didn't know it was Eurovision this weekend, I can't stand it! Cinny is a fan tho if I remember rightly? An Education is on BBC 2 tonight, love that film if only for the clothes and hair and interiors!!

The pillowcase dresses sound like a lovely thing to do Tete.

    Morning all.

Need to have a productive day today as yesterday sort of got away from me. This is especially bad considering NIM did about 12 mystery shops. He's out doing another 14 today. He was all excited before going out yesterday, and I couldn't work out why. Turns out he'd convinced one of the companies to let him shop a jewellers (you have to be 25. he's 24) as he'd been wanting to get me a present he'd seen there a few months ago. So he comes home last night with two little boxes, and I am now the very proud owner of a Pandora charm bracelet (and the sweetest hubby I can imagine). My grandma used to tell me where all the charms on her bracelet came from, and I've always wanted one of my own so it was a very, very thoughtful gift.

    Todays 5 things
    Wrap all parcels
    List 10 things on ebay
    List 10 things on ebay
List the stack of Amazon books
Look at quotes for home/contents insurance with another provider
Transfer all my data onto external harddrives to try to speed up laptop
    Tidy bedroom
    Make lunches for tomorrow
    Make smoothies

Okay the list is a little over 5, but I was so bad yesterday it needs to be!

How lovely of NIM :D I had a Links of London charm bracelet for my 18th birthday and I could tell you where every single charm came from they all have a meaning behind them to me - including one being the first ever gift my OH bought me :D

My productive day today includes looking for the best prices of baby items I have my eye on, OH is closely guarding his wallet :rotfl:
