I am not sure at the moment. We could probably just get by the 3 months where i wouldn't get any SMP but would be tight. I would like to take the whole year off so we will have to see.

I found the Keeping in touch days (KIT) great as you can do 1 day a week for 10 weeks to ease you back into the swing of things in work and it gets paid on top of maternity!

Oh yes I forgot about those. I was going to sort some out with my manager. She is going to be going on maternity leave in Sept/Oct time so need to get it sorted before she is off as don't know who will be taking over from her.

I thought they were great as a gentle introduction. Not that you will be wanting to think of that at all Im sure. I remember my boss contacting me when Max was 3 months old (as I said I would return at 4 months......... ha ha) and I was still in babyland. There was no way I could have gone back after that!

My friend said she felt better putting her little boy in nursery when he could crawl (just after 9 months) as he could crawl to a toy, away from another baby and could go to the staff if he needed something. That has always stuck with me. I would have hated if Max was stuck at some place in the room and couldn't move.

Yeah - it just feels wrong anything before that doesn't it?

Lovely to hear that Poppy's growing well Wendz!

I'm starting to heart my office a lot, today is someone's birthday and he's brought in homemade pakoras! Yummers! I've had 2 already (they're only little!) and trying to think of a sneaky way to steal more without people realising that I'm being a greedy cow! I think my Mars Bar Rice Crispie Treats will be a bit of a let down on Monday after today! Maybe I ought to think of something more exciting to make?

I had a look on ebay last night for my plates and couldn't find any :( I did find lots of lovely other bits I want though... this is why I try to stay away from ebay! I know that they'll pop up all over the place again in 3 months time when I don't want them any more!

Birdie, try adding popping candy to the mix, might wmake them that extra lil bit special because popping candy makes everything better :p
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

My work do health and well being promotions every month. This month is healthy eating month, and today is Fruity Friday. Which means they give out free fruit, fruit shaped stress balls, and recipies. As well as being concerned that some of my colleagues mistook a plastic apple that looks like it was made by fisher price for a real one, I can't believe the 'healthy' recipes I've been given! I wouldn't eat most of them for being too unhealthy! The sausage casserolle contains a sachet of caserolle mix, there is a medium sized 'suede' in the stew, and there is a recipe for orange honey buns that are stored in a jar full of liquor syrup!!! It has half a kilo of sugar in them and a pint of cream!
