Morning! Is everyone excited for the long weekend?! I am! Not that we've got much planned, haven't got a lot of money to last untill the 20th May and I've got 3 birthday presents to buy in the coming week
Any ideas what to buy a picky 30 year old for his birthday? My brother is a nightmare to buy for, I usually just give him some money since he's so awkward but I think I should make more of an effort for his 30th... but what?! I thought about a Segway Rally Experience but the nearest one is 3 hours drive away, why do these companies not realise that the North exists and we want to do fun things like ride Segways too?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Don't know Birdie, I hate buying for men, was going to suggest an 'experience' too. But I know what you mean, I got a 'tea for two' voucher from a friend for Christmas and the nearest place is about 100 miles away, in some country house in the middle of nowhere - I'm not going to drive all that way for a cup of tea and a scone! I want to swap it for a beauty treatment a bit closer to home but want to discuss it with her first, am sure whe won't mind but feel a bit bad!
Yeah 4 days off will be nice but nothing planned, might do a bit of sewing but then I feel bad for 'wasting' the sunshineWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I get the sunshine guilt too! Sometimes I secretly want it to cloud over so I have an excuse to stay in on a Sunday afternoon because I have nowhere to really enjoy it! I was wandering around last night though and re-discovered a lovely public garden about 3 minutes walk from home, I've only been when it's been packed so never appreciated how nice it is but it's dead on an evening. If it's nice tonight I might pop round straight after work and read my book for a bit and catch some vitamin B!
I'm sure your friend would be fine about swapping your experience voucher, better that you actually use it for something! You could always go for tea and a scone together somewhere posh nearby.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Hello all,
Sorry I haven't been on to update but only got out of hospital yesterday! As you know I have had my baby girl and we have named her Poppy Summer. She was born on the 19th at 2335 pm and weighed 7lb 5 oz. It was a long labour. I had pains all Monday and went into hospital the monday night. I won't bore you with the details but i was doing well to start with and then things just didn't progress so ended up with a c section. I am just happy she is here though. Did mean I had to stay in hospital longer but we are both good so that is what matters.
Heres a pic for those not on my Facebook:
Hope you are all good and that Dinah is having a fab holiday.0 -
