Aye I know, and it's silly how I've wanted to make those damned profiterolles for about a year, but within a week of it being on a list I actually did it - I'm definately a goal driven person!

Where has everyone been?! Stuffing your faces with pancakes?! ;)

I can't believe how much my job is sucking right now, the 'plenty of work' I was promised on Friday turned into a tiny pile of paper to check off on Monday that lasted an hour. My manager didn't even speak to me yesterday apart from to say at 2pm 'Sorry, I feel like I've ignored you all day. You'll have some work tomorrow' It's really no fun having to look occupied all day, I was exhausted! If the same thing happens today I'm complaining. On the plus side, I like going home for lunch, OH made me pancakes yesterday; he only managed to successfully flip one of them, the rest were a bit wobbly!

Have you heard anything about the grant Dinah?

My attempt at pancakes was not good... I am blaming the equipment.

New jobs can be quite hard as you don't have much to do and at the same time you want to make a good impression. I am sure you will settle into it.

I am having a mini lie in this morning as got an appointment at hospital for an injection and we don't need to leave till 10.

Hmm, I'm struggling a bit at the moment. It's just over 3 weeks until I go to Uganda, and a lot of wedding stuff isn't yet sorted. All of it seems close, but it's taking aaages to get the final quote, the final measurements, the final meetings etc. It's making me feel quite stressed and I haven't been able to keep it simple as I had hoped. The entertainment is still really not sorted after our two DJs went a bit flaky, so spending time on that today.

My OH has taken on too much and isn't very well so he's leaning on me when I really need to be leaning on him. My best friend has a new girlfriend who lives out of London, so he's spending a lot of time with her. My bridesmaids are finishing a PhD and starting a new business so it's quite difficult to talk to them. Disappointingly I haven't been getting any support from my Mum who just keeps telling me what I should have done and doing really radical things like telling everyone we will book and pay for their taxis from the airport??!! It's been a long time since I have seen the caring side to my Mum and I really miss her. Think I am feeling a bit lonely :(

Anyway hate to be all doom and gloom! Things are still good, just hard to keep uni work and wedding and getting ready for my trip going at the same time.

Nice and sunny here today so after I finish work this afternoon we are going to have a walk down by the river and feed the ducks, such a big kid :D

Sorry to hear things are getting on top of you Lara, sounds like a bit of a nightmare! I think that if you told your friends that you need them they’ll make the time for you, it sounds like you could do with the support.

My blessings have been thrown into sharp relief this week. My friend’s boyfriend broke up with her on Sunday and she’s absolutely devastated. She starts uni in 3 weeks and was already stressing about it, now she’s beside herself and has no idea how she’ll cope without him. I feel absolutely dreadful for her, it was awful when I went round to see her on Sunday and she and her parents kept asking about my wedding, I kept brushing over it because I didn’t want to sound all smug-married when I was there to comfort her. We’re also kind of in the middle of it as her boyfriend is one of OH’s best friends, no idea what’s going to happen at our party on Saturday as they’re both planning on coming. I have a feeling they’ll get back together but I’m not sure if it’s just wishful thinking!

My other friend who was getting married at the end of July found out that her venue has gone into administration on Friday so spent the weekend frantically trying to find an alternative wedding venue available in the busiest time of the year, she’s found another hotel, but the only date they had is at the start of June so she’s just lost 2 months planning time and is currently having kittens. And the biggest issue we had was getting given carrot cake when we asked for chocolate!

Glad to hear you’re feeling better Flower, enjoy feeding the ducks! Soon you’ll be calling them ‘Quack Quacks’! :rotfl:

Is your injection the blood type issue thing Wendz? Hope it goes well, take your time getting back to work!

Sorry you're feeling so blue Lara :( Just know we're always here if you want a good vent, or any help. Hug_emoticon.gif I agree with Birdie, if you tell your friend that you're struggling then I'm sure they'd make the time.

Birdie - Hopefully it won't be long until they properly teach you the ropes and you can make your own work! Does sound majorly cra!py atm.

Had my Zus stay over last night as OH was out at the dogs. So we made our pancakes, were pretty scrummy but not as good as my Dad makes! Had them with ketchup and salt, yum :D
