Just realised I may feel less like I'm sinking in it all not just down to the money sorting itself out, but also I've felt a lot more appreciated by NIM the last couple of weeks. He always does a lot around the house, but I've been feeling quite exhausted and snappy and instead of snapping back he's started to counter my snapping by cheering me up, bringing me home bars of green and blacks, I've had two lots of flowers in the last week (lillies first which are beautiful, then a bunch of daffodils because they're cheery and he found a £1!). Its a shame that because I can't quantify it I tend to put a lot of time into the business, sorting out the house, generally Getting Things Done, and I probably need to put more time into our relationship just because a tiny bit of time makes it sparkle rather than ust tick over, and if it's that simple to have us both skipping about happily it's a bit daft not to be doing it because of listing a couple more things on ebay or whathaveyou!

Sorry, ramble, he's out at football tonight and my chest is in shreds for the last hour, so distracting myself getting all philosophical and posting on boards I don't normally venture onto!

Aww that is lovely Dinah, you do have a really good one there. I think we all need to take time to appreciate what we have sometimes.

LOL, I was just reading through your 101 things and #89 'Sleep under the stars with hubby ' I read as stairs! Funny how #90 is to get new glasses, I think I need them too! :rotfl:

That's lovely about NIM looking after you and that you're appreciating it, you're right that it doesn't take much to make your relationship special if you remember the little things :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

:rotfl: @ sleeping under the stairs Birdie! I'm well chuffed off today, OH and I bought these nice drawers from Habitat using the 20% off code on Sunday, and now they are another £80 cheaper in the Habitat sale. Aaargh!!!

Oooh I think it should be stairs! Less romantic but we could make a tent out of bed sheets like when you were a kid!

Went to a business expo today, a test of how I'm recovering - answer is I pushed it too far too early! I kept moving and squeeking in pain, so I'm back home early and under my blanket to warm up. Expo was good in that it made me think, but bad in that it scared me into thinking of the business as becoming real. Starting to wonder if I haven't commissioned the website because I can't bear to spend that much money, but deep down I know if I had it I'd take the plunge, but it's gambling with debt I'm not keen to take on.

Dinah, you should join the Memorygirl Matrix forum, lots of ladies from this site mentoring each other in starting up new businesses. Think some of them are webdesigners who might be able to give you a good deal.

Birdie, I read your Day Zero List. When you go for that pint of Guinness (when not if) PROMISE me you will go anywhere thats not Dublin City. You want a good pint your gonna need to go more rural, preferably the west coast which is where the "Steriotypical Ireland" is :)
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

THanks Lara I'll have a look, I'm always wary about dropping in on tight knit threads, I think it's the same thing here that scares the lurkers into being lurkers (hi - I see you!)

A little good news today, I've found a possible grant of up to £1000 if you match fund it (not an issue given I need so much more to start up) but the pot is running very low, so I'm going to meet one of the guys who admins it today, and hopefully get my application in asap. I'd say by Monday but it looks like you need to provide 3 quotes for everything you're looking to get done, and that could take a while!

Money still going well, I'm fairly impressed that we've nearly met the £10 a day challenge for this month and it's only 4 days in!

Glad I read that NIM, me and OH were wanting a long weekend break around June (our holiday not til November) and I was looking at Dublin but I know it's so expensive. Can you recommend anywhere? OH loves his Guiness.
