congratulations Flower and CMD!! I bet all you lovely ladies are excited about your new additions soon to come!! :D
Any good weekend lists Dinah? I bet you're all over ebay with the free listing day? I'm taking it easy today, had a fairly hard/long week and I've been totally skint due to a few crippling bills! hoping to get to the bottom of how my credit card works (Embarassed but I don't really get it!) and see what the real damage was because I've been sinking due to the long time between paydays etc and I've endedd up piling quite a bit on my card! I'll clear it all now I've got paid on friday but it is still a bit :( and it means once I've paid it I'll be tight for next month but I know I can catch up so should be ok!
    Hows everyone else on here?
I'm trying to get stuck into surveys etc as I am trying to save up for a holiday! I've been on massive trips every year for the last 3 years including this summer but I still feel like I am desperate for a trip!

Any idea when Mrs Birdie is coming back?

I didn't know there was a free listing day! Was it just yesterday or is it today?

This month has gone suprisingly well on ebay sales and mystery shopping money etc - as you can see from the signiture! This was bumped by £200 this morning as my grandad turned up with £200 in an envelope for us! My grandad puts £5 a day on the horses, not the best thing in the world to do but its a very sociable thing for him so it's not the end of the world and its a reason for him to walk 3 miles a day and see his friends which can only be a good thing! Anyway he went in on Friday to put his few bets on, and there wasn't anything he liked the look of, so he decided he'd put it on the bingo machine, and if you got 6 numbers in 6 calls you got £10k, in 7 calls you got 7.5k, 8 calls was 5k, and so on down to £9 if you got it in 35 calls or something like that. And grandad won the £5000! So he's given £200 to my brother, me and NIM and mum and dad, and put the other £4000 in a shoebox.

So we actually now have £150 in a savings account due to go over to the new business, and £135 coming in from ebay, plus £265 in an envelope, and another £30 ish due from ebay too. Plus I think we've got about another £60 coming from mystery shopping. So £640. This is such an unexpected ammount of money I'm a bit at a loss as to whats best to do with it! It's a tiny bit more than we need to buy all the flooring for the lounge, which would get the house finished and ready to sell without having to wait for mum to sell the car. Equally we could put some into the business as planned and pay the rest off the credit card, or pay £500 off an overdraft. So, the decision is just do we get the last stuff to finish off the house (all we'll need is the stove and it'll be done) or do we pay off some debt and put a bit into the business. Decisions decisions. Ridiculously I'd love to just pay £500 off our joint overdraft, which would get rid of it completely, but I know thats a silly plan as that wouldn't reduce our monthly outgoings, and what we really need to be clearing are the debts that demand monthly payments.

NIM did a great MS yesterday, managed to go the wrong electrical retailer next door to one another both beginning with a C. Best part was it was an audit, so he had to introduce himself to the manager and everything!

Been back to the emergency doctor with my chest today, they still say they can't really see any signs my lungs are struggling - fine, if it's not asthma tell me what it is! I'm sick of this pain in my chest and the tightness, and its starting to worry me. So going back to my normal surgery tomorrow, hopefully seeing the excellent doctor I saw the first time, rather than the bored doctor I saw on Thursday.

Yay well done to your Grandad and how lovely of him to give you some of the money. Sounds like you are doing well money wise!

I am sure you will make the best decision of what to do with the money, sounds like there are lots of choices.

Hope you get some answers with your chest soon.

Tink - hope things get better moneywise for you soon, and you can pay off the credit card.

I have had a bit of a boring weekend really so not much to report here!

Hola! We landed at daft o'clock this morning and we've been walking around like zombies all day. I'm so tired, just waiting 'till I can go to bed now!

The holiday and wedding were amazing, we really didn't want to come home! Here are a couple of sneak peeks of the wedding photos, we've got hundreds to look through and whittle down to a reasonable number!

Good luck for the new job tomorrow!
  • Sorry to butt in D. I think you will be liable for capital gains tax unless you've had the house for a year. I may be wrong, but its niggling me!

Thanks for flagging that TPA, I'll look into it - but we bought at the end of May, by the time it sold we'd be past the year mark I think, even if it gets on the market at the end of March/early April.
