I love a bit of shredding Tete! But I think a whole day of it might even do my head in!
Yeah I find the feeding the paper into the shredded quite theraputic, it's the sorting through what needs to be shredded and what doesn't that killed me, done now though - phew!
Sounds like you had a lovely day on Friday and that it wasn't too Weddingy. Am jealous of you off to sunnier climes. Been thinking idly about going back to Sevilla maybe at Easter as I've always wanted to see a proper Spanish Semana Santa but it would be on my own and I think I'd be a bit lonely. I might price it up and see how it looks but don't know if I can quite bring myself to holiday alone!
Your pics looked brill Cinny, hope you've managed to catch up on some sleep now!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Glad the wedding went well Birdie, sounds perfect and great that the parents got on!
Went to an antenatal class this morning and on the way back car started playing up again same thing as last week which we thought had been fixed. Grr driving me mad! OH has took back to garage.0 -
How annoying Wendz! I hate it when you have to keep taking your car in because it never gets really fixed. I had to get rid of my first car (which I loved!) because it was in the garage every month because it just never felt or sounded 'right' and they just kept billing me for work that was making no difference! I got paranoid that bits were going to fall off on the M1 and got to the stage where I hated driving!
Tete, I don't know if I could holiday alone or not; the days would be OK but I'd worry a bit about going out for dinner on my lonesome in the evening! Although you never know, you may meet a Spanish hunk who will sweep you off your feet!A woman I used to work with would go on holiday alone every year despite having a boyfriend, she loved sitting by the pool with a load of books for a week and not having to please any one else! Maybe if you view it as 'travelling for a week' it'll be better, lots of people go travelling alone!

I'm a bit confused about your holiday Dinah, are you still going on your girly holiday with your friend? When do New York and Japan fit in? Too many holidays for my brain to figure out!The holidays confuse everyone, even me lol. She'll explain better than I will but were doing new york this year, hopefully japan next year and she wont be telling me where were going in april till were at the airport...I think
Why aren't you working Mr?!
I think I'll have to tell him at the airport, just so he gets on the right plane! Plus I'd rather tell him than him just gradually realise as we go to a gate. Plus he asks questions and I can't lie so he'll work out where we're going really quickly if he asks enough!
New York is booked for August 28th for 8 days, back on the 6th September.
Japan is hopefully next March or early April, depends on when my cousin's wedding is. Japan is what we will be doing to celebrate getting debt free.
Yes, still planning on going away with my friend in April. April is looking awesome, 3 days at our wedding hotel (NIMs Christmas pressie to me) then a week away with friend, then a week away with NIM. The one thing I like about the council is all the holiday time they give you.
Well this month's whole 'setting money aside for food and petrol' has been illuminating. We're down to about £40 left for food, usually I'd just asume we were doing okay until the bank account was past empty. However petrol has been the real eye opener. We set aside £280 on the 25th January, and we filled up this morning, leaving £60 to last until the 25th February. Which it clearly isn't going to! So from next month we're going to have to set aside a staggering £400 a month just to get to work. It does make me question if I'd not be better off with a shop or office job, in walking distance, not paying petrol or my student loan. Now that's a depressing thought!
Didn't get much ebayed last night as I was making soup and curry etc for the 5 day harcombe detox (NIM gets carrot soup, I have pork, spinach, carrot and parsnip curry - its really creamy and filling despite having nothing else but spices in it!).
New posts on the diet thread - first day of the crazy project today. Which is good as my body needs it to fit into all those bikinis!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Christ on a bike that's a lot of holidays! Though on the plus side, you won't need to worry much about petrol and food budgets seeing how it sounds like you'll hardly be home April. Alright for some
Your 'wedding' sounded lovely Birdie, though I feel like I can't call it your wedding! Actually sounds just like the kind of thing me and OH will be doing (he still hasn't properly asked, but bought himself a suit and I've got a pretty dress!) The big one is sooo close now, I'm getting excited for you!
And thanks Tete!I'm getting the hang of cropping photos to make them look neater and using filters to either boost colours, or enhance the photo (used cross processing on the castle photos and I like the finish!) Dunno about the holiday, on one hand going on your own seems oddly romantic and would be a complete escape. But I don't know if I'd have the guts to do it. Then again, like Birdie said, some hunk might sweep you off your feet

Birdie - it is so annoying , car was fine for a yera but has been ithing but trouble last week. Think we might have to get another one at some point but now is not the time!
Dinah - all the holidays sound very exciting. Think we will be going about as far as Cornwall this year! Petrol is rediculous at the moment isn't it. It also depresses me how much it costs me to get to work and thats on the train. At least I am saving that when I am on maternity leave!
Poolie - exciting, hope you have a fab time!0 -
Hotel looks amazing Poolie, post piccies when you get back!
Sounds like you'll be having an amazing holiday year, I have no idea how you can afford to do it all as well as pay off your debts!
My wedding really was lovely Cinny, it sounds terrible but we had such a good day that I kind of thought, why are we going away to do it all again??? But I can't think that way, we're doing it again so the rest of our family can enjoy it with us and we're going to have some amazing memories. If we could have such a good time together in one afternoon, imagine how much fun we'll have over 2 weeks!
Just had a meeting with my boss and he's put me on official wind-down now, my phone is getting turned off soon so I can get everything cleared without distractions... I may have over-exaggerated what work had to be done so I could get out of answering the phones this week!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Birdie, that's so nice! Glad you had such a fab dayHa ha, I like the sound of winding down at work...
Tete, I loved going away on my own - I went to Spain (Madrid > Valencia > Barcelona) for 10 days a couple of years ago. It was a good balance of adventure and being a 'safe place' for me. I did worry about the evenings before I went though! Sometimes I ate alone, sometimes I went with other people I'd met that day or from a hostel I'd stayed in, and I'm really not one of those confident, outgoing, friend-making people! You have to be in the right mindset, but you'd be fine! There are a million reasons people go away on their own
Ah, now I want to go on holiday again!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Morning all. Had a shocking migrane last night, worst one for quite a while. This morning I'm about 50% better but still feeling shot so staying in bed. NIM says I've had a lot recently (I can't remember) and ought to go see the doctor. Its predominantly stress related I think, but yesterday being the first day sugar and caffeine free might have impaced on it too!
Eyesight right now is pretty wiggly, but I'm hoping by later I'll be together enough to list a bit on ebay, get us a bit closer to debt free and business ready.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
