Don't think it as a chore Tete. Turn it into a game and also think of it as clearing out your life.

I have been busy working out on savings and looking at bonds ready for June. Suspect it I will be putting the current monthly savings money in a 1 year bond.

It must be good seeing those monthly savings pile up Poolie :D

Will be even better when the car is paid off (£130 per month) and my student loan (£180+ per month). We can really start to save a bit harder

I saw the Santander account Tink, bout you couldn't pay me enough to take my banking back to them! We'll get £100 for joining first direct, and everyone says they're brilliant. Santander might be better than A & L like, but we don't even have a branch near us and they lost about 30% of the cheques we paid in at the post office and had to query them which was a pain.

Aye kits are on the list! The machine to make cases is staggeringly expensive though. Just need to find this start up money to get going.

Yep mum has bought the car. £1000. But she needs to sell hers before she can pay us.

That sounds great Poolie, can't wait to start big saving either!

I'm just so impatient! I'm hoping things will speed up later this year though - by the end of the year we'll have finished paying off a car loan (£171 p/m) and another loan (£136 p/m) so should make big in roads then. Yay!

Tete, I sympathise about the paperwork! It's v. healthy though! Over winter I've been sneaking quite a lot of shredding on to the fire :D Just as good as shredding!

Good news about the FD account Dinah, I remember you saying a while ago that you couldn't get one. I think they're super good and quite generous once you've been with them a while. I closed a standard credit card last year and was approved for Gold card with 0% for 15 months in less than a year. Which is alarming as they can see what's going on in my current account!

Would be nice if you can use the car money for start up costs - sounds like it's all coming together :)

Just thought I'd mention Santander sorry to hear you've had bad experiences with them!
Birdie I forgot to congratulate you by the way! I hope you had a lovely day! The blue/indigo dress was lovely and I hope you both enjoyed your day! How many days till you fly?

I don't envy the long coach trip though, I've done that and it sucks!

The coach trip wasn't too bad. 20 hours in all but they played movies, and we made up a pretty big group so there was always someone awake I could chatter to. Problem was the lack of sleep, I get le grumps when I haven't slept properly. Think I got 6 - 7hrs alllltogether, but that was all mashed up 30 minutes here and there. But I'd do it again quite happily! Been putting pictures on my blog and tumblr so I can link if anyone's interested.

Dinah - Photos to twitter is really easy. There are loads of sites, but I tend to use Twitpic. You just sign in with your Twitter details and you're away! Instantly posts uploads to your twitter feed. But if you'd rather just have your photos in one place, like on your website when you get it ect you could just copy the photo's URL and use a site like bit . ly to shorten it. Which answers your second question! Bit is my favourite site for it though, cause it gives you stats on how many views the link gets if you like being nosey!

Get news on your Mum buying the car, I like Tetes idea of using the money to start you business if you can. Be much better for the business if you didn't have to take out loans ect to start up. Sound like it's all going well though. And fast!

Your treat holiday sounds like it might be very pricey!! But in all fairness, I wouldn't expect anything less for you two! Maybe if it all mounts up to too much you could do it as your big eff-off 'Yes the debt's finally GONE' holiday? What is it you're doing to celebrate that anyways? I always love reading what people are going to do when they're out of debt. (bar the 'save' bits, blah. Boring!)

Hope Friday went well (mrs!) Birdie!! Think I saw your FB update about it? But in all fairness, I was drunk sleepy so I could of made it up yesterday in my noodle :D

Hi! Thanks for the nice wishes everyone! Friday went really well, the registry office was a great in-and-out jobby and the registrar was lovely, my Mum surpised me with a little bouquet of white roses and 'something old and borrowed' because she knew I wouldn't have thought of it! Bless her! We had a really long (like, 7 hours!) lunch with loads of champagne and wine and it was fantastic. We had a really brilliant time with the parents, they got on really well so any worries about them being together on holiday have been abated! Only 5 days left at work and I'm already on a major wind-down!

I'll be checking your blog when I get home Cinny, glad you had a good time!

I love a bit of shredding Tete! But I think a whole day of it might even do my head in! I actually really need to get my paperwork (and everything else really!) in order so that'll be a job for the next couple of months, it'll take me that long because I need a really thorough sort out and we've got a lot of full boxes to sort out! I wish I had a fire to throw everything on, I'm jealous Poddle!

I'm a bit confused about your holiday Dinah, are you still going on your girly holiday with your friend? When do New York and Japan fit in? Too many holidays for my brain to figure out!
