Great news about the orders!
Hope you feel better soon, seems Christmas likes to hit us with these things.
Haha at NIM and Poolie, can imagine it!
Very exciting about getting your first orders!
Sorry that you're not feeling well, hope you all had a good Christmas though
Had a v. busy few days - really enjoyed playing hostess on Christmas day! the goose was surprisingly good and made for awesome roast potatoesgot back from Norfolk last night and no plans for the rest of the week, so looking forward to it!
Birdie, I feel for you having to work - boo to stocktaking in the freezing cold, doesn't sound fun!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Hey Everyone
Glad the Christmasses were good, sorry you weren't well Wendz and hoping you're not coming down with something Dinah. Birdie can I come to your house on Christmas Eve next year and then on to Dinah's for Boxing Day :drool::drool:??!
OH and I had to get up at 4:30am when we were still poorly to make our flight to N. Ireland. So we just crashed for the first few days at home really. We just hung out with the family and saw my sister and her three little boys. They are all so different and so funny.
Also I managed to do some wedding dress shopping. There were a couple of nice ones, but in the end I preferred the one I found in London (that I posted earlier). The good news is that I found a size 10 sample of that same dress on sale in Belfast for £400 reduced from £1000 - yippeeee! So the dress is all sorted now. So exciting!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Glad you both had good Christmasses Poddle and Lara.
How exciting about the dress Lara and what a bargain, bet you were pleased with that.
I am off for my 24 week antenatal appointment at doctors today, all seems to be going very fast now!0 -
NIM and Poolie are sat in the lounge nattering like old maids, while I'm curled up in bed with a bar of galaxy as I feel shaky, very cold and achy. My joints have been really stiff and achy for about 2 weeks now, but feeling more generally rough today.
@NIM - Why does this make us sound bad? I noticed she didn't mention we had been to the pub and were in the process of putting the world to rights.0 -
Can't be bothered with the multi-quote!
@Dinah - Hope your joints improve soon!
@ Wendz - Being ill over Christmas is horrible! Hope you're getting over it now.
@Lara and @Poddle - Glad you both had a great Christmas!
Bought a new laptop today so that made a bit of a dent in my bank account! Put £70 in the ISA though so don't feel so bad about the splurge and I do need a fully functioning laptop for my freelance work. Technically I've got some freelance work I should be doing but I'm still in holiday mode and can't be bothered so I've been cranking out the reviews on DY and Ciao instead. Might as well do something vaguely productive with my time! Does anyone else still use either?ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
I haven't Dooyoo'd in ages Dippy! I feel bad about it but maybe I'll start again in the New Year!
Glad we're still getting good Christmas reports from everyone! How exciting about getting your wedding dress Lara, very MSE too! You'll look stunning, how long away is it now? Oh and you're very welcome to come for Christmas Eve dinner, feel like everyone else in my family has invited themselves so one more won't make much difference!
Hope the scan is good as always Wendz! It's really flying, you'll be a Mummy in no time!
I'm still at work, but only 'till 10. Had to spend all shift in the warehouse covered in dust yesterday (with the most annoying woman ever as my partner, all she did for 8 hours was moan about how much she hated stock take. None of us like it love, just crack on and shut up!), today they don't really need me so I've convinced the Bods In Charge that I've got loads of work to do in the office so I'm [STRIKE]skiving[/STRIKE] working very hard now! At least I've got tomorrow off, but back in on Monday. Somehow the company has managed to make us work bank holiday Monday (which should be paid at double time) in exchange for getting New Years Eve, aka a normal working day, off. They really do screw us at every given opportunity! Oh well, the plan is to stick it out until spring 2012 when our sharesave plans mature, get the money (which looking at the current share price should be about £15k which is 3x what we're paying into the scheme! :j) and go to work for my Dad.
Dippy, look at the laptop as an investment! And at least it came from savings!
Hope you're feeling better now Dinah, loads of people seem to be coming down with flu, I hope it stays away from me! But... I could use a bout of some illness now so I can lose 1st in time for my wedding... but I mustn't ask for that as it would most likely backfire on me! :eek:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
No more scans after 20 weeks but did get to listen to heartbeat which was lovely and the doctor said she is a nice active baby which i am definately aware ofwith all her wriggling! I have an infection though which she has given me antibiotics for.
Birdie - what a pain with having to work over the holidays. Hope you are getting some nice overtime to make it worth your while.0 -

What's overtime??? We're getting nothing extra as they're classing everything as normal working days! How nice and generous of them! We didn't even get mince pies after our work Christmas dinner this year, which we had to pay for for the first time ever! No Christmas bonus any more, no Christmas card, no tin of sweets... but I did get a 'Merry Christmas' from my manager... :wall:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. That is rediculous especilly if it is a bank holiday! Oh well sounds like your plan to work for your Dad 2012 sounds like a good one.0

You're not missing much, to be honest. Since they changed the payment tiers, I've been finding it really difficult to get anywhere. I've run out of stuff to review now really but I guess the kind of people who write 5 reviews a day will still be ok!
Bought it out my first paycheck really so didn't even need to dip into the savings - result! Just means that I couldn't put that amount into the savings but never mind. Laptops don't really last that long in the grand scheme of things I suppose and seeing as mine is on for hours on end and for a lot of the time it was on most of the day, I was probably always going to burn it out quicker than most!
@ wendz - Good news about the baby being nicely active but as you said, you already knew that really! Nice to get the official confirmation though.
@ Birdie - Bet you can't wait to get shut of that job first chance you get! Hope they pay you more than decent for having to work on the holidays!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0
