, I do agree with penalising people who use the disabled or child spaces without consideration. I have a 16 month old daughter and when parking, I need to open the door fully to get her out of the car seat. A normal space is too narrow and I've sometimes had to resort to lifting her through the window to get her out. What gets to me is the person who pulls into a child space and gets out with the 15 year old son or the one who thinks they can park in the space because they have a child seat in the car.

I have 4 children and have been in your position but STILL cannot agree that people should be 'penalised' (illegal anyway) for using the disabled or child spaces without consideration.

In the examples you have given, how do you know the driver is not picking up their toddler from a local party/nursery (in car parks where you can park without using the site) or maybe collecting someone with a child? Or maybe the 15 year old son has a disability (not obvious to the eye).

Did you know that in Sainsbury's car parks their 'mother & child bays' are there for people with kids up to age TWELVE? My 12 year old son could pass for 14 or 15 as he is tall, and I have parked in a mother&child space at Sainsburys with him before when there are no other free spaces - because Sainsburys allow it. I have a copy of their pathetic leaflet (withdrawn now I think, due to complaints about the legality of the 'fine' wording) that confirms the child age limit as twelve!

Why oh why are people so quick to judge other people's parking?

I will tell you why I think it is - because the myth of 'car parking bay abuse' has been spread by PPCs and charities like Mobilise who are in the pocket of a PPC. Everyone in recent years has been encouraged by misinformed articles in the press to snoop on other people parking - but without the first CLUE as to what that person's business that day involves. And with no clue that the Blue Badge scheme doesn't apply in private car parks either, there are usually a gaggle of old gits tutting at the lack of a BB in a 'disabled bay' (advisory).

Parking nosey-parkers in supermarkets really get my goat because I used to be a driver for disabled people and used to pick my late (disabled) Mum up from the supermarket when she'd finished her shopping. No, I am not disabled. But YES, I was entitled to park in a disabled bay and walk away from my car without some jobsworth with no clue as to the law, giving me the evil eye.

And certainly I could park there without some sad, megalomaniac parking prat in a yellow jacket issuing what he thinks is a 'real parking ticket' cos he thinks he's got a real job.

BTW I no longer use disabled bays since my Mum died & I changed jobs. Not because I think the bays mean much (they don't) - and not because I'm scared of PPC tickets (LOL!!!) but because, like most people, morally I think it's wrong to take even an advisory disabled bay from someone who needs it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Your whole post couldn't have been better said!

I hope that anyone coming across this thread from Google or alike learns from the OP's starting post that private car park charges cannot and will not be enforced.

    Enough said.

I actually told you to "wind your neck in" in those exact words, and I didn't say anything else, or at least nothing that could be construde as bullying.

Edit: Only now do I realise some of my posts had been removed. Well nobody thought to explain why, or saw fit to warn me about anything. I fail to see how ANYTHING I said could have been perceived as bullying. Full stop!

The simple manner of your posts and wording is enough to consider it as you call it 'bullying' what you are happy doing every day in your 'invoicing' job.
