New home - can't work hot water!

Hi,
Interesting.
I wonder why whoever installed it didn't run the cylinder on the gas c/h?
Two holes in the insulation on the left hand side should have two open threaded connections.
That's the flow and return and should be connected into the pipework on the right hand side, using a three port valve , as previously posted and a cylinder stat. I personally prefer two two ports especially if it's a large house.
The tee back into the system from the cylinder return needs to be fitted in the correct place or you will have reverse circulation on your c/h. You might need to get someone in.
Also a twin channel programmer.
GSR.

"your boiler doesn't heat the hot water, it only heats the radiators"0 -

He (or she depending on which half) said that your system is poorly designed. The HW cylinder is ONLY heated by electricity and the boiler only does the CH. Get a professional in to look at converting it for you. However much you fiddle with the programmer atm it will have zero affect on your HW supply which is all electric.i have no idea what you just said.

See above the boiler has not affect whatseoever on your hot water as the system is presently configured.right! The hot water is now scalding hot. I have turned down the temp control on the boiler and the radiators are cool - not what i wanted, but the hot water is still too hot!
Most have their own inbuilt thermostat you may have to take the cap off to find it.I cannot find any temp controls around the immersion heater!
Nope that pumps water round the CH.Anything i can adjust here:

Which was, of course, why it was requested.Canucklehead wrote: »One photo = about 10 post of speculation.

You could well be right in which case the meter /tarif change isn't a good idea.Go back to Post 20...that makes me think this is an economy 7 electricity setup. Flat we lived in had the same setup for hot water (storage heaters for heat..awful things)..one immersion for a boost of heat anytime and the other for during the cheap electricity period.
House built 1999. Do you think so?I bet there used to be storage heaters and they've ripped them out and put the boiler in and rads.
Its an effect of the light. Look - same carp soldering on all pipework. To my untrained eye the copper pipe in the cupboard on the right hand side connected to pump looks slightly newer to me than that connected to the cylinder.

I'm really still no further forward! You have seen the pics, read my problems, how would you deal with this if you had the same set up in your home?0
