  • Bet nobody's still able to keep track of all the ones they lose, it'd sure be easy to remember those they have won.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Thought messers Arthur and Terry might like to see this.

Indeed, another win for the little people. Did he put a counter claim in to get back the cost of of attending. Did any of those web oracles who say nothing will happen, underwrite the out of pocket expenses and loss of income?

    Enough said really.

If you receive a Private Parking Invoice or one from a uncovered bylaw Railway station car park, just ignore it - and follow line and ignore the certain posters here attempting to force and extort YOUR money
Assuming you're talking about me and another poster, might I just add that I have not once asked anybody for any money here. ;)

What a patronising and stupid statement to make. I detect about 10 tonnes of sour grapes there and he's trying to salvage something from the wreckage. Yes. "little man" 1 - PPC bully 0.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Some of his statements are not good are they. Remember this one!

That can't be right, I thought the advice was to ignore demands. Maybe the PPCs have been spying this thread and feel more empowered than ever

Seems the Judge did not see the shift in power!;)

I said 'certain posters' - therefore, please don't flatter yourself! ;)

As for the winning of that case, the fact remains fact and upheld and proved, Private Parking Companies LOSE court cases and that is VERY VERY rarely that it ever gets that far.

Simple advice, ignore any Private Parking Invoices and make use of the paper, either as a fire lighter at this time of year or a paper chain, but DO NOT part a penny of YOUR money to a PRIVATE PARKING FIRM and that INCLUDES a train station car park not covered by the Railway Bylaw

No Sassy, don't advise throwing any documentation away from the scammers, it should be filed safely away, and kept just in case of the highly unlikely event of them taking it further.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I noticed on a recent thread on Pepipoo that APCOA work with at least one local Council and issue tickets as Penalty Charge Notices under relevant legislation. One wonders how much APCOA get out of the deal.

You must not argue with sassy, or he'll close the thread. But your advice is correct.

I would also say that taking advice from para legals who hide behind nics and deliver up zip proofs of their arguments is fanciful. If you cut through the inept arguments and folklores, you will find that this thread has actually delivered some truths:

    1) people have had and continue to have judgments against them, contrary to the myths they don't exist
    2) no one would be foolish enough to expect all judgements to go in favour of PPCs
    3) oracles are always generous with other people's time and money
    4) keep a paper trail just incase
    5) the law is not an exact science and often very subjective
6)just because you find a flyer on your windscreen from an article clerk don't make it so
    7) PPC's couldn't care less if they lose a pursuit, the objective is public awareness that their client wants to make good use of his/her carpark by making things difficult for inconsiderate users. A court action now and again keeps up the profile.
    8) fiction often presents as fact, if enough people are willing to go along with it
    9) a stoich and defiant defence after defeat is the oil that lubricates discussion boards.
A stitch in time means you can't afford a new one.
