I have today spoken with my team manager regards Private Parking Charges and there enforceability, although that should be clear for most of us here to understand.
At this present time, I will be contacting BBC Watchdog after my manager has agreed that files we have dealt with be forwarded to them, although we must first gain Data Protection clearance so this may take a few months.
Today we had a young man attend our offices looking to gain advice on a Private Parking Charge (PPC) to which he had received seven weeks ago and they had passed his details to Graham White Solicitors, to which are currently under review.
After attempting to contact Graham White ''Solicitors'' several times we were met with an engaged telephone tone.
I am pleased to advise that after contacting them by fax we swiftly had a reply stating this clients PPC had be 'Subject to cancellation and voided; with no further contact from them regards this matter in future'.
I would advise anyone who receives a Private Parking Charge (PPC) to simply ignore it, after a number of 'official looking' but meaningless letters that will be the end of the matter; the matter will not go any further.
If you are concerned by the contents of the letters you receive as a result of ignoring a PPC, do not feel threatened or allow these people to extort money from you.
Contact your local CAB office whom can offer you confirmation of the advice provided.
The best way is not to contact these firms yourself.
With regards receiving a PPC in a Car park that was/is covered by Section 14 of the Railway bylaw that was in force on the day that you received such a 'ticket'; there are many ways to get out of the fine, as they must prove whom was driving at the time the alleged breach was made and there must be correct signage in place with correct wording, these are just a few 'get outs' on your part, so it is always best to post your circumstances on this forum should you receive a real Bylaw ticket, not just one that is worded to gain money by extortion.
Finally, my advice remains the same and unchanged, ignore a PPC if you receive one, nothing will happen!0 -
Although I agree with the ignore advise I think your last sentence should be amended.

To something like in all probability nothing will happen! As I don't see how anybody can state that as a fact!0 -
Sassy you do need to know the difference between a PPC (private parking COMPANY) and and fake PCN (Parking Charge Notice when the scumbags issue them).
You mean 'ignore a private PCN if you receive one'.
Also I don't get why you posted that stuff about your team manager - we don't even know what sort of employer you work for. And why the flippin' 'eck did anyone bother to try to phone and then fax Graham White who are known to just be part of Roxburghe?
Why didn't you just tell the man to Google 'private parking scam' or 'Graham White Roxburghe' and learn that it's just a scam? You come on here enough to know that surely?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I mean any Private Parking Company as a whole - weather it issues PPC or PNC's that are fake.
My point was also that many 'tickets' issued in Railway car parks that are covered by section 14 of the Railway bylaw have means to get out of such, there are quite a few get outs if you speak to someone in the knowand even more so, someone can almost most of the time get you out of a Bylaw 'ticket' by a simple letter from a legal body advising against the clients defence.
Regards advice re the client we had, we are a free to use service, we would never send someone away who clearly was very concerned by empty threats of the said company, and the reason we contacted them was because our client wished us too as he requested us.
I must say, that although may people whom have posted here claim they would not ignore a invoice as there are known as by most of us here, paying one only feeds more money to these firms employees who will issue more and more invoices to extort even more money from people.
It's quite simply, ignoring a invoice is completely safe and out of 100s of cases I have personally seen just this year, not one of those has ever gone anywhere near court!0 -

I am merely stating facts to what I have personally dealt with this year, and having dealt with 100s of cases this year and three others in the office have dealt with even more between them, I think I will stick to the facts that I have seen, and that is ignoring a letter or aka unenforceable invoice nothing will happen.0 -

Then would I be right in assuming that you would be prepared to personally indemnify all that you have given that advise too?0 -

No, you still seem to misunderstand the terminology. No-one 'issues a PPC'!
PPC = private parking company (hence when we say a 'PPC ticket', we mean a fake ticket issued by a private company).
PCN is the term you mean. Not PNC, not PPC...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
