I have now read and digested the contents of your other thread
I have to say on this occasion I side with Mrs P - however Tesco do a very nice bitter marmelade - their own brand
for about 35p per jar
so you could possibly invest your refund from B&Q in several jars of tesco marmelade
I hope this solution helps you and Mrs P with your marital strife

Why not take the bag and a few handfuls and a photo and explain, they will then tell you what the next step is. If they ask you to return as many as you can, i cant see any reason you could decline to be fair.
You need to get out more...the OP is clearly having a laugh0 -

* An Apology *
It has come to my attention that some aspect or other of some post or other of mine may be open to misinterpretation, and in particular the assertion that it's not worth buying paint at B&Q because they're colour blind and flog off builder's rubble at £7.48p a time in bags marked 'Black Pebbles'.
In fact, B&Q is not colour blind and remains an emporium superior to Harrod's, with the finest customer service and highest quality products in the land.
Earlier today, we returned to our local B&Q a sample of BLKPEBBS that aren't and asked for a refund of our £7.48p. Immediately, an employee from the garden centre section was summonsed to Customer Services, and upon inspecting our sample pronounced them to be neither black nor, indeed pebbles. He also said, they seemed to resemble aggregate.
We then explained that we had bought these non-black non-pebbles looks-like-aggregate from his department, at which point he went away again in what we thought was a search for a new career.
Eventually he returned, however, and said ah, well, these aren't Chinese.
Er, um, no, we said.
It's the Chinese Black Pebbles that are black and pebbles, he explained.
But not the English, then? we asked.
Well. . . They are when wet.
Thus was it revealed that only the Chinese know what a black pebble is (£6.98p for a bag of about 14 from B&Q, as compared to 450 examples of English black pebbles at £7.48p.)
So. There you go.
A forgiveable misunderstanding has occurred and B&Q has been marvellous about it. They refunded our money -- well, less 10%, because we'd forgotten we'd bought this with a Distressed Senior Citizen's Diamond Card at 10% below retail -- and when we asked if they'd like to keep the bag of English BLKPEBBS we'd brought in, they said words to the effect, good God no, take 'em out of here.
I cannot speak too highly of B&Q. My experience has taught me an invaluable lesson, viz: that when buying anything from anywhere whose packaging has a reference to colour, it is always wise to ask before purchase whether the item is based on the Chinese colour code or the British.
Sincere thanks to everyone here for their help!0 -
Dear PhylPho
We are very sorry to hear that this product was unsuitable for you.
The black pebble purchased is a naturally occurring product, which by definition has some natural colour variation (we advertise them as Black/Grey on diy.com - EAN: 0000003837634)
Due to the natural indentations in this product any dirt or dust that is covering this product may remain for a short while, but we believe this will disappear over time.
As this variance was unacceptable to you so on this occasion, we are more than happy to offer you a £25 gift card to enable you to purchase a more aesthetically suitable alternative.
If you would like to accept this, please DM us.
Many Thanks

What a wonderful thread, and a positive outcome too! Let's just hope your physical (and mental?) problems resulting from the purchase of non-Chinese black pebbles are remedied as quickly as your microwave... :rotfl:0
