It was similar for me - the GP who filled in a report for me, I've seen once and that was several years ago for a problem with my thumb. She basically wrote "unsure about mobility needs and care needs".Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

My renewal was awarded without a medical, CWTA.
Not sure if you meant first time claims only, or all claims, thoughThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
I'd be very suprised in the current cut climate if the message had not gone out to toughen up on all new claimants, be that right or wrong:)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Got turned down.
Dissappointed but half expected. Will draft appeal letter when I feel mentally stronger. Feel a bit kicked today.

Hi Jc, I was turned down first time too, I was so downhearted, I didn't even appeal. (I just reapplied some while later.)
See CAB, to advise on your appeal. Not today, of course!0 -
I think a few folks here offering advice have to realise that things have changed, both recently and radically, any advice about I got this or that, is irrelevant unless in the present time,
Sorry but it is true, it is here and it is happening to us ALLI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I am very sorry to hear about those of you who have been turned down, I know how it feels as I have been there as well as in the past been through 2 tribunals. Don't give up!
After re-applying (as my award was ending) I had my care rate lowered to LCR (indefinite) from MCR beginning of this year, and as I didn't agree I wrote and asked for a reconsideration - (in March) they reconsidered and awarded HRC indefinite.
I didn't send them anything other than a (long) letter and did not send in any additional evidence - I only asked if they would be prepared to look at my application again as I did not agree with their decision.
To me this is fairly recent 'now' so it isn't happening to everyone. In this type of forum you will see more of the negative as majority of people don't search for help in these areas unless they have a problem or have been turned down. It is the minority who come on and say they have been successful.0 -
I'm so sorry jc, I was hoping it would be good news for you, best of luck with the appeal0

I think you to fail to realise what has happened in the last few weeks/days. That's recent, not last year. And yes, I am in the same (leaking) boatI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
