Parking Eye Fine

Hi I'm looking for advice, I had a parking fine sent for going just 10 minutes over there allocated times for £50 from Parking Eye. I ignored the letter based on internet research and most defenently learning what I did n't know before by searching this website that these companys are false and scams. This company is listed on here. As expected I received my 2nd & 3rd letter just as described and exactly looking the same way as the uploaded templates shown on here, pictures of my car etc. . . Only now I have recieved a 4th letter which as described by user should be recieved but this one looks alittle bit more scarier, it's as addressed from a debt collection agency 'Lane & Co' all with what seem to be official codes, client references & reg no. It follows on to demand a payment now of £110.00 & drawing my attension to 'paragraph 4 of the 49th update of the Practice Direction of the Civil Procedure Rules 1998' It continues that if I fail to make this payment I will incur a County Court judgement, incur further costs & they will begin legal proceedings. It also astonishingly advises should I require 'assistance' to contact my local Citizens Advice Bureau'! It finally gives me a date to pay by and is signed 'Lane & Co', no personal signiture or name left. It's a simple black & white letter that easily my 9yr old daughter could create and print but to clarify am I still doing the right thing by ignoring these letters? The registered keeper of the vehicle was n't even driving at the time & I have made no contact what so ever with any company in relation to this but what do you guys think? Is this just another stage? Do I continue to ignore this & if I do what will happen next?

Ignore.
They advise contacting cab cos they know they always say pay up, which is of course the wrong advice.
To get a court judgement they would have to take the driver to court, as they only know the RK thats often not possible. ~Further they would have to win the case, also not very likely.
All in all the normal advice is to completely blank them then they are not sure you are not a top notch barrister who would take them to the cleaners. Its all a game of bluff.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
"It continues that if I fail to make this payment I will incur a County Court judgement"
Think about that bit for a second........
.......a DCA telling you that you WILL be found guilty? Surely even they don't believe that they can pretend to have this authority?0 -

So they think they can just "give" you a CCJ before they even begin proceedings! What a bunch of idiots.
I haven't had this Lane & Co letter yet, must try to get another Parking Eye invoice this weekend.
OP, Parking Eye are very easy to ignore. They have never taken anyone to court. Don't bother with the CAB either, they are known to be useless with private parking.0 -
Ignore. I got three letters, the third being from the "debt collection agency" that happened to operate from the same offices as Parking Eye.
I've also just had a "take down" order from Parking Eye's lawyers as I posted all of my experiences on my blog. So I'm *really* wound up about them at the moment.0 -
I took all the advice from this website and from BBC watchdog regarding a fine from Parking Eye and to my astonishment have just been issued with a CCJ. Does this mean I am the first person ever to get one and what advice do you have now? I am being told I owe £240 + legal costs and solicitors fees. I can probably just about afford it but I feel massively let down by every single piece of advice I was given. Do I accept the fine? Please put this in every forum to get rid of the myth that this company do not take people to court!!0

Excuse the disbelief but a new poster saying they have a ccj is not very believable.
Seeing you say "Do i accept the fine" I am assuming that they have threatened you but you have not yet gone to court. If so which one? When? Where? Did you go to court? If no why not?
You have given so few details we would not be able to advise etc.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

It's a fair bet, registered today I guessExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
