I'd love a cheap deal, but don't need a phone....what do I do?

My dh wants us to lose our landline and go with a deal that gives internet too, so we can use the phone with the laptop, rather than pay for broadband. We use the PC quite a bit, for MSE, eBay, watching iPlayer etc. Would we be able to do that? Or does a fair usage policy just cover you if you check emails etc on a phone? How much allowance would we need?
MSE & eBay hardly use anything but watching iplayer will gobble up your allowance in no time:eek:0
