I think it's nice for dogs to be walked together, they look like they are having so much more fun. They get more exercise running about together too.

I think picking a dogwalker is as personal a choice as picking a child minder for a baby... I find that what I find ideal is not what everyone else is looking for. My dog is still funny around other dogs - if they aren't sub then it takes only one bark from them to get her riled up and ready to fight - I know this, the dog walker knows this and therefor we work around it. Her dog can't stand mine, but some of the other dogs she walks are happy with her so we have arranged walks together and if all are happy and the dogs get on then on occasion she'll take them out in pairs but max once a week.
This is what works for me and my dog - it's no replacement for being home and doing it myself but given the situation I know my dog adores my professional, insured, recommended and lovely dogwalker and we like her too and it's become more of a friendship than just someone I pay to walk my dog.
No she ain't cheap, but as said - you get what you pay for!

Zara enjoys her walks with her dog friends which is clear from the state she comes back home in and the photos that follow....

And I am happy to pay whatever I pay for my girl to be properly looked after to HER benefit while I am at work.

I think a good dog walker is not easy to find to be honest and I am very happy with mine.
  • What a crazy end to this forum. I have set up a dog walking "business". More of a bit of extra pocket money really: very difficult to have a full time career doing it.

I feel sorry for all dog walkers in THIS weather.....

You are right, just dog walking is not a best way of full time income - the 2 ladies I use (they work together) also offer dog boarding/puppy training classes/cat visits when owners are away etc etc.. Pretty much full service but all around dogs really with kitties included as lots of people (their customers) have both dogs and cats.

Haha thanks, we're a tough breed though! I'm waterproofed from my head to the tips of my toes at the minute. Bracing myself for a cold winter ahead i think! :(
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire
