I would just like to point out the majority of people have fair medicals but if people want to record a medical that is their choice but in the majority of cases it would not be necessary.

This and other forums like this tend to highlight those that have problems as those that do not have problems are much less likely to post.

Yes I'm sure there are more good than bad Healy
But as I keep saying I want to know what to expect
and it cant do any harm to record it can it.
    hopefully all will be well.

of course the bad ones need to be highlighted
people need to be warned about these things.

Out of the two medicals I had, both went badly, and so I had to be prepared for the second one.

I find it difficult to believe that people are advocating secret recording. How would you like someone to secretly film you when you are doing your job or doing about your daily business? I personally would be livid.

You don't need to record it, just take someone along with you as two heads are better than one.

I would not be bothered, I would be doing my job professionally, and would not be lying about the customers situation.

As for a witness, waste of time complaints wise, unless you can get someone of 'higher' standing than the doctor, who ideally would have to be independant.
(ie a senior police officer, a MP, judge etc) other wise it does come down to ATOS saying one of two things (or both).

    1. The complaint is vexatious (ie you lost money so are complaining simply because of that)
    2. The doctor is a professional who would not lie.

It has to be done secretly, because the DWP and ATOS do not want people to record with permission - they have something to hide in other words.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

Do not upload it to youtube, you could be in legal trouble if you do that.

I appriciate the thought you put into this guys
but I must point out 20 quid may not sound much
but when you aint worked for near on a year your only income is from you wife with two kids to feed
20 quid is a lot to spend on something that would only be used once

    thanks anyhow

It wont be used just once [unless you are going to recover soon], if you win (either at the time, or after an appeal) they will call you in for another medical not long after.

As for the money, yes on limited income its a struggle, but you can always resell it on ebay, or sell something on ebay to pay for it, or search for a while and get a second hand one.

If it went wrong, you would be wishing you spent a hundred quid on one if thats what it cost, never mind 20, if you did not have any backup to prove the lies.

I dont think you seem to be grasping what I am saying here

I have been out of work for 8 months
I have a wife and two kids
I am not looking fopr sympathy
I except I do not have any right to benefits, just a top up to my wife wage via working tax credit.

I dont have 20 quid to spend on a recording mic or whatever..ket alone wishing I had 100 quid to spend.
You presume if I bought one I could resell it for near buying price
you presume someone would want to buy it in the first place.

I have said I am willing to try using my phone,I dont want to do it
but it looks as though I may be wise to do so.
Please understand. 20 quid to me.. is a lot of money
its money I do not have.
I dont get benefits..so what am I to be wary of
    other than lies.
