OK, I think its time we dropped the dog chat :) No point in overegging the pudding is there, I think those who disagree with the taws idea ( and the taws have said its only in the idea stage in any case) have said thier piece.

Try pigsback ( esp for your hubby) https://www.pigsback.co.uk

theres a massive thread in the freebies board. Its a click through site with compos on. You can trade your piggy points for cash, or gift vouchers ( jonhn lewis, top shop, pizza hut cinemas) so you can have a bit of a treat, or you can swap it for a cheque :D

Also, while OH is off, maybe he could hit the PC and enter loads of competitions. Youve gotta be in it to win it as they say. I won a luxury food hamper with wine a coupole of weeks back which we kept as we wanted one anyway, but anything else we win that we dont want is going on ebay or saved for someones Xmas present ;) Gotta be worth a stab hasnt it :D

Do neither of you have a bank account?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Lynzpower thats a good idea about the competitions do you have any sites which have good competitions which people actually win ?

re competitions, try MyOffers http://www.myoffers.co.uk they're mostly surveys for which you get entered into prize draws to no skill required! Just be prepared for some junk mail.... re cashback sites, try myshoppingrewards http://www.myshoppingrewards.com. They've both worked for me. I'll be getting a cheque for £45 through the post in November!

    Good luck!

  • I haven't read the whole thread but it is so wrong to breed from your dog to make extra money. Do you know how many dogs there are than need homes and how many dogs are put down each year because they cannot find homes. I think you will also find that there is a breed rescue for most breeds too as it is not just mongrels that lose their homes. Each time you place a puppy you take away a home for a dog in rescue. And to make money from animals is just plain morally wrong. How much difference would someone rescuing a dog and paying a couple of hundred pounds to the rescue centre make?

Also to be a responsible breeder you should have a great deal of knowledge about genetics and know the complete history of both dogs that are going to be bred as there can be a lot of health and behavioural issues that can come up.

Having babies does not necessarily "calm" a dog down. In fact with all the hormones rushing around her system and her puppies to look after it can induce maternal aggression and that doesn't always go away - there are many cases where dogs who have become mothers have attacked household members and visitors. Having a litter is not the best thing for an animal. And I do know what I am talking about as I am an animal behaviourist.

I will stop now as I feel very angry and upset about this issue.

You should have read the thread before you posted. The op has asked that discussion about the dogs is dropped - it was only an idea and plenty have already said that they disagreed with it.

This was about debt not dogs i just mentioned once and it got out of hand.I value decent opinions and i agree that there are lots of unwanted animals. We have researched it properley and are only considering it.But if you really feel that strongly then surely all breeders should be stopped. As they are simply doing it for the profit. We werent going to do that,it was going to be a one off then have her spayed. Its something we were very interested in and part of the reason why we purchased a pedigree. Can we leave it at that now pleeeeease!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just wondered if anyone knew how i stand with this,in desperation 6 weeks ago took out a shopacheck loan for £200 just to get some shopping and pay arrears on council tax as had ploughed everything into trying to catch up on things(this was before we had our lightbulb moment and went to the cab for help)anyway they came knocking 2 weeks ago for their normal payment and we told them that we were willing to make a token payment(which was what the cab said)to be told that they couldnt accept and it was a waste of time.So we said well we offered and its in the hands of the cab(again was told to say that)have heard nothing till now.The collector again accepted what we said took a note of it and got in the car cue for big boss woman to jump out and say you cant do that your not allowed to go to the cab.So my husband said yes i can we already have so she started spouting we wont accept it it will be refused? She doesnt even know what the cab are going to be offering. Is she trying to frighten us or does she have a valid point?
