I do. I stand the chicken on halved onions and potatoes, put just half a cup of stock in the bottom, and great big chunks of carrot and celery. It falls apart as you take it out and it melts in your mouth. Delicious!

Sadly, the pot for mine developed a crack over the weekend, so I need to buy a new one now.

Thanks to op for this, fairly new to the grabbit board & have just managed to reserve the last one in our local store. This will save me £s & lbs, no more filling the oven (or me) up with cakes every time we have a casserole or roast :)

It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!
  • Been thinking of getting a slow cooker for a while as never had one, not sure which size to have gone for as no experience but went for larger as quite often cook stews or curries when get meat on offer and then freeze so thought large would be more practical just hope it's not too big now. Nearly bought the 3.5lt in tesco on Sunday for £12 glad I dithered now as ordered this for pick up today and had a £5 giftcard so only £6.99 for me.

Thanks bribrian for link to chicken receipe now printed off to try. And double thanks to op.

Oooh!! yay! been after a slow cooker for a while now and at the price can't really say no lol (reserved at Dundee Overgate btw - doesn't say how much stock they have though. Wellgate OOS)

One question however, how does it work out electricty wise? Is it cheaper to run than cooking on a stove/in an oven? or does it work out much the same?
