No smell at all! That sounds like an electrical fault.

BTW, we did wash the inner pot and lid thoroughly first to get rid of any remaining chemicals from manufacture.

Sounds like yours is headed back to the shop before it blows up!

Mine did the first time I used it ,it went by the time the food was cooked. It was bit like the smell when you switch on a fire/heater thats not been used for a while.

    Hope yours goes away

I bought one of these from Argos, but when I saw how enormous it was I returned it. My present slow cooker is 3 litres and a bit on the small side for me, but the 6.2 one is too much of a jump. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced slow cooker in between these two sizes, say 4.5 litres?

  • Thanks guys, I washed it all but still smelt, but like dotchas it stopped smelling pretty soon.
I thought about taking it back but surprisingly it cooks smaller portions just as well as large ones...
Made bolognaise sauce in it last night - 10 portions and enough for 2 lasagnes :-)

This is now down to only £11.99, a 6.2l slow cooker doesn't get much cheaper than this!!!!!!
