This looks fab, thanks! Have just reserved one - have been looking for a bargainous big slow cooker for ages, perfect for winter stews... mmmm!

This is the one i have.
I've used it for over a year now and it's a bargain, only complaint i have is the lid seems a little loose and you need to make sure you seat it right.

Picked mine up Friday. I love doing beef stew with parsnips, peppers, courgettes, a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes and top up with stock. Serve with mash and plenty of pepper. :j
  • Thanks very much for this. Bought tonight and have got it on now. I tell you what though, it gets hot! Not insulated.

The kitchen needed warming up in this winter :rotfl::rotfl:

I am bored with my slow cooker! I put the same meal in the oven and it cooks quicker and looks more appertising. ( crispy bits ) i'm not convinced these things save money energywise.
  • I bought one of these slow cookers a cou[le of weeks ago & we have been using it about 3 times a week. So far we've done pork caserole, sausage caserole, curry, chilli, a veg bolognaise, a whopping great free range chicken & this evening we've got lamb bubbling away in there for tomorrow.

I paid for it with Nectar points, so I really feel I got a bargain, especially as I got 1p in change, as the points are deducted from your card in multiples of £2.50.

Its saved us so much time & as we always cook from scratch, its such a treat to know that your dinner is already cooking while you're at work. We've found that to prevent the food from going too soggy, my OH swithches it onto the warm setting just as he leaves the house to go back to work after his luch break.

I would recommend anybody who may be considering buying one to take a look at the reviews on the argos website.
