What the hell do we need breast-feeding coordinators for? Does the government really believe it needs to advise mothers how to feed their freaking children?
How on earth did we manage for the few tens of thousands of years without them?0 -

Simple - we breast fed our children or they died. Then we invented formula and marketing. BTW this isn't a breast vs bottle debate - there are no absolutes. But most NHS Trusts have stated policies supporting breast feeding because of the proven health benefits (which save money) and also have a lack of resources to deliver said policies.
Mind you, £40k sounds like a lot of money......0 -
Actual jobs advertised by one of the London councils earlier this year. I think it was Hackney. Google it.
When I mentioned it at the time, another poster found the exact ads.
Here we go . . read the job specification. This is a current ad. I'll look forward to your apology.

Looks like an advert for a highly trained mid-wife to meanyway a protected role under the Tory NHS ringfencing,
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
. . . primarily responsible for promoting breastfeeding in local communities.
A real good way to spend up to 46k a year, of course.
Of course, you are the only person who does anything of value.
You really are a sad, pathetic little man.Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -

Hang on, this is nothing to do with a London council. Its a hospital job for a grade 7 midwife in London. Looks entirely reasonable to me. No apology needed I think..0 -

also, value has little to do with it. if a private company makes profit, it can pay its staff whatever it wants. if it loses money, the staff get noting.
the public sector is just a parasite on the private sector's back. obvioulsy there needs to be a small public sector but what we currently have is an obscene self absorbed tumour that needs destroying.
how can the public sector, which makes and creates nothing in terms of profit give out bonuses???? bonuses are payments from profits that companies decide to pay to their employees, instead of giving the sums to their shareholders.
bonuses in the public sector are a joke!!!0
