Unsavy, stop beating yourself up!
We've all done the same, ignored things, not checked the small print etc etc. Last year I was too lazy to shop around for a car insurance quote, so just let it renew. I didn't notice that they had stuck on a £500 voluntary excess to the policy. Two weeks later I crashed my car - how much did I regret not bothering to check??? That was £500 I could very easily have avoided!
It doesn't make you a silly or bad person - the thing is you are doing something about it NOW. There are people out there who go through their whole lives like it!
My christmas has pretty much gone on credit this year too. Here's to next year when we both have a credit free christmas - yes?
I hope you get your wages sorted, that would really pee me off too!
Hello jwil, thank you! Your so kind. I can't believe they changed ur excess, I actually thought they weren't allowed to change your insurance? I hope your accident wasn't too serious.
I need to really do something about it now especially as I have had a huge reduction in wages. Part of me is thinking leave it for the moment so I have to really focus and concentrate on sorting my mess out.
Next year we will both work towards a credit free Christmas! For sure! XxxClutter clearout - 12 bags

Something I haven't done this week is stick to a meal plan so diet hasn't gone too well, I have used my car more than I wanted so not happy about that and I haven't been able to crack on with things as I've spent most of the week seeing to family and oh had a day off so my day for ebaying is Saturday! Tomorrow is a no no as am out with family - again! Mentally I am preparing myself for an absolute sell off of as much as I can getting as much money back as I can. Which is a positive as normally I would keep - just in case!
Does anyone know if it's free listing this weekend?
I know that this diary and all the wonderful people who inspire me, has helped me focus more! So thank you!Clutter clearout - 12 bags

That's the right attitude!
When you mentioned building bridges you reminded me of something my daughter said to her dad the other day.
'Boo hoo! Cry me a river. Build a bridge....and get over it. :rotfl:
I'm not saying that to you savy. I just thought it was funny. I'm going to use that the first chance I get.0 -

Presumably they could. It wasn't too bad, touch and go for my car, but it got repaired in the end.
Is your wage drop permanent then? That stinks if it is.

I don't think it's free listing this weekend, they had one last weekend but only if you made a donation to Children in Need. As my stuff only sells for small amounts anyway, it would have wiped out anything I would have made so it wasn't worth it for me.
A lot of people report better sales when it's not a free listing weekend, so don't worry too much about it - it only saves you pennies anyway unless you have a lot of high value stuff."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I really like that, thats brilliant and a good moto to have! I feel she means once youve built the bridge just move on with life and not live with the regret/guilt/worry! something I certainly need to learn to do, I sometimes get theses feelings of things that have happened i the past and stew on them.

Well I really need to clear the debt as it will effect a new mortgage in the future. Oh I so need to do this and really crack on with some selling and making some pennies. I just want to get the finances sorted, the best I can.
I have been gathering bits to ebay, just need to sit down and get on with it. Prob start tomorrow. Also need to check online banking and do another budget as some things have changed. Just need to sell sell sell. Sell and more sell.Clutter clearout - 12 bags
