Not really much change for me Becs, I'm still waiting for the £600 savings balance to come through, at the moment I have less in savings than at the end of Sept due to Ireland so the endowment will be a big help!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

The credit from Goldfish has come through - £6 into the OD fund, rest has had to be put aside to my savings for our team building day in Nov.

Not gonna meet my target this month :(

My payment aims each month are to reduce my DFD to Dec 2012 and I haven't met it this month :(

This is the world's longest, most expensive month, can't wait till it ends! :)

found your diary and have subscribed to it. Joined this board in september and did really well for the first few weeks but then had two weeks of stupid spends that has now annoyed me, surprisingly for those two weeks i did'nt come on these boards, now back on track and no silly spends must read diaries every day cos then i don't want to spend any money when i have read them.

I have quite a few debts and it is deciding which one to tackle first but one thing i have decided to do is i work for one of the main supermarkets so i get staff discount on my shopping, from now on the weekly discount which can be between £6 and £12 will now go towards paying off a debt, cos i realised that could be anything between an extra £24 and £48 a month off a debt, think i will tackle smallest first then i can see some progress if i don't see much progress then i will be disheartened. I have a long road a head of me to get out of this mess but i'll take it one day at a time.

My main problem is i come on these boards for just 5 minutes and an hour and a half later i am still on it, but it's better than watching the tv.

    Have a good day

  • I know what you mean Beccie, October seems to last forever, I get paid on Friday and it's taking forever to get here! I have £36.50 in my account until Friday, then I have car tax due and was hoping to start xmas shopping this month!

Mum's birthday in November, sister's in December, just an endless list of things to get done!

Hi Amber and welcome along! :)

You may already know this but the snowball calculator is a really useful tool for working out which debts to tackle first and how long it will take.

I think the using the discount to paying off is an excellent idea.

I know what you mean and I get disheartened too when I feel I haven't made enough progress but all the lovely people here keep me going :)

Hi Pennies, it's never ending isn't it!

I get paid Friday too, can't wait!

I'm hoping for a less expensive month in Nov - although already got team building with work (which we have to pay for ourselves) and fireworks night lined up. The shifts at the pub should help though :)

Morning Beccie (and everyone). I'm much happier today - was v tearful last night but think just over tired and hungry as grub and kip fixed me!

Hi Amber - I totally get the wanting to pay off little ones first to see progress, but it is worth looking at snowballing too to make sure it is not going to cost you more in interest that way.

SolwaySaver - Hi, yes, I do have a diary - I think the link is on my signature. Its called "confessions of a shopaholic" (and aint that the truth).

Not going to be around much today so will bid you all a good one and will pop by later.

    xx

Hi EB, glad to hear your happier today :)

Bit of a random one - does anyone know a cheap place online to get bras? Mine always end up costing me about £40 each cause I'm an awkward size.

I begrudge the money but I really need new ones!

Have you looked at figleaves? You can get cashback from Quidco and they've got a sale on atm :)
