I think we should just be grateful that we get clubcard points and can treat ourselves to things although annoying it's changed it's still pretty good and in the scheme of things it's not that important.0

Doesn't massively affect me - I never used my vouchers for deals, I saved them till we had a really lean couple of weeks to knock the grocery bill down a notch, or for things like the big festive food shop.
I'm not obsessional about points and stuff anyway - if I can pick 'em up they're a nice bonus, if not - no biggie since it's stuff I'd be buying anyway.... Boots Advantage Points have saved Christmas shopping on more than one skint year!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
anyone got any ideas of the best way to turn club-card points into cash?
Was thinking of exchanging for goldsmith vouchers, buying something then selling to an independant jewellers0 -
I am still waiing for tesco to add the catalogue points before the quarter ends. They owe me 5000 points and they haven't added them yet. Has anyone been told when they will be added cos I will be well cheesed off if they pull a fast one and add them to the next quarter when deals are reduced to 3x the value.
I phoned them up on Tuesday as I'm owed an extra 400 points from a summer offer. The bloke told me that I need to call back on the 23rd (which is the last date you can earn points for this quarter) and check they've gone on, or possibly even the day after that.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

That would probably result in you getting the original 1x value back, given the tat that high street jewellers sell at highly inflated prices.
Might as well cut out the middle man and spend them in Tesco, or wait for the Double Up promo to come round again.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
You don't need to book your holiday before the 6th December, just convert what vouchers you have into tokens. The tokens are valid for 6 months.Just got a letter from tesco this morning to say there is going to be a change in the clubcard deals.
For anyone (like ME !) who uses the clubcard reward deals to book holidays , days out etc , this is going to make a big difference!
Double clubcard points are continuing but......
From 6th Dec 2010 the partner rewards (ie , the days out , holidays etc) are only going to be worth THREE times the value where as at present you get FOUR times.......
Also , from the same date , it is only going to be one point for every TWO pounds of petrol/diesel purchased !
I usually save tesco points like mad as they pay for my boat fare every year when i go on hols......Guess i will just have to book it before 6th December lol0 -
LOL yeah but the tassimo bought with points isn't actually costing you anything because you earned the points by doing your everyday shopping, they are just a thank you for shopping at tesco at the end of the day. so funny this to see how everyone thinks they are being done out of something. If you shop in most stores you get nothing, they just take ya money.Basic point (and therefore double points) aren't the main source for most collectors.
Bonus points are.
BA Miles accruals will be suffering however
It was good whilst it lasted!
2000 points for a Tassimo machine at the moment. Wonder how many there are on eBay....goes to look0 -

Double Up promo is back in a couple of weeks time, includes laptops and computers this time as well.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
How come you think you are being ripped off? up until the 5th Dec your vouchers are still worth £918 in tokens. If you exchange them before then your tokens are then valid for 6 months.
How much notice do you want.
At the end of the day the vouchers you have in your possession are a reward for shopping at Tesco, and also if you read the back of the voucher it does say that it remains the property of Tesco.
Think about it they give you something for what you would have to do anywhere, shop. and then they negotiate deals with reward providers such as Virgin, Bella Italia etc., and yet you are still not satisfied. Maybe Tesco should drop double points and keep it at 4x. would you be happy then?
Its just pure greed the way the wingers carry on and no it is not unfair trading practice. Tesco if they so wished could scrap this scheme anytime they want, but they don't because they want to give someting back to their loyal customers.Fine changing the rules for new points earned, but I have £228 worth of points, which should have been worth £918. So at a stroke Tesco have ripped me off by £218 worth of benefits. Surely this is unfair trading practice? What's worse, there is no address to write to on the notice telling us of the change.0 -

Rubbish tesco do not want to give anything back. The whole purpose of the clubcard scheme is to Incentivize you in 1) shopping mainly in tescos hence they make more money and 2) spend more money in tesco. If tescos could get away with out giving you any thing back they would and this is certainly why they are trying to devalue the scheme. They feel they can give less back and get away with loosing minimum customers hence maximizing their profits.
Profits are all they are ultimately interested in. So whos greedy now tescos or the consumer!!!!"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0
