Fine changing the rules for new points earned, but I have £228 worth of points, which should have been worth £918. So at a stroke Tesco have ripped me off by £218 worth of benefits. Surely this is unfair trading practice? What's worse, there is no address to write to on the notice telling us of the change.

Tesco own the scheme, operate the scheme and guess what, can withdraw the scheme. You have £228 worth of points today. Tomorrow you will still have that, if the scheme is still running. just as the old proverb. Do not count your chickens, until they are hatched.

How have Tesco ripped you off? They offer this as a freebie and are within their rights to change the scheme. Some people have real problems actually affording food in the first place and your worried about a few clubcard points.

Hi , is there no way that you could redeem your points now ? The rewards once they are redeemed have a 6 month use by date on them so if you left it until 5th Dec (the day before the value drops down to 3 times their worth) it would take tesco until (roughly) 12th Dec to issue the reward vouchers which means that they would be vaild until 12th June 2011.

Thats what i intend to do ! I always use mine to pay stenaline boat fares . Im just going to redeem mine early , gets the boat fares sorted and out of the way.

I will however loose out because i was intending on using my remaining vouchers for days out in Blackpool but as im not going there until 15th July 2011 even if i left it until 5th Dec to redeem that would still make them out of date by the time i wanted to use them.
  • Don't know if it's been discussed elsewhere, but I couldn't find it - just noticed this morning, the maximum amount you're allowed to use on holidays is changing too:

Cosmos - down from £400 to £300 per person
Virgin - down from £700 to £525 per person
  • really ! ooh ive been saving mine - think i might spend them all before this date then on restaurant vouchers

Deanos, the changes are being implemented to allow Tesco to keep double points going.

If Tesco decided to get rid of double points instead of changing the deals you would end up with a lot less.

No i wouldn't, i make my points up mainly with the bonus points they dish out :(

Basic point (and therefore double points) aren't the main source for most collectors.

    Bonus points are.

BA Miles accruals will be suffering however :(

It was good whilst it lasted!

2000 points for a Tassimo machine at the moment. Wonder how many there are on eBay....goes to look

I am still waiing for tesco to add the catalogue points before the quarter ends. They owe me 5000 points and they haven't added them yet. Has anyone been told when they will be added cos I will be well cheesed off if they pull a fast one and add them to the next quarter when deals are reduced to 3x the value.
