Tesco clubcard deals are changing !

Just got a letter from tesco this morning to say there is going to be a change in the clubcard deals.

For anyone (like ME !) who uses the clubcard reward deals to book holidays , days out etc , this is going to make a big difference!

Double clubcard points are continuing but......

From 6th Dec 2010 the partner rewards (ie , the days out , holidays etc) are only going to be worth THREE times the value where as at present you get FOUR times.......

Also , from the same date , it is only going to be one point for every TWO pounds of petrol/diesel purchased !

I usually save tesco points like mad as they pay for my boat fare every year when i go on hols......Guess i will just have to book it before 6th December lol

And, from 1st November, you'll only get one point for every two pounds spent on petrol.

Oh , i thought that was from 6th December as well ?

Most of my points come from fuel as my husband drives a taxi !

I usually use mine to book stenaline ferries but have just checked their website and the 2011 fares are released already so im just going to book early as i have enough tesco vouchers already lol.

This is pretty gutting as we use our points to treat ourselves to meals every now and again. Apparently it's to "be fair to restaurants as they only have a limited number of tables" apparently.

I don't know all the ins and outs, but I'm sure the restaurants like being full and I have no doubt that Tesco pay them quite well for the trouble, and you still have to pay for drinks which are always marked up to the hilt anyway.

The deal, while not very good now, is still better than before there was double points.

Back in 2009 £100 spend got you 100 points, which was £4 deals.
Now £100 spend gets you 200 points which are £8 deals.
Dec 6th, £100 spend gets you 200 points which will be £6 deals.

I agree that its not great its being cut, but its still a better deal than back before double points, and Tesco are saying that the cut is so that double points can be made permanent.

Get a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card and you still get 2 points per £1 on petrol

No, from 1st November you will get 2 points per £2 when you use your Tesco Creditcard (it says so in the letter that came in the post today), plus the 'total spend' points (1 per £4) with the card.

So that's 1.25 points per £1 (as long as you spend in whole multiples of £2)

  • 50% decrease in petrol rewards...unless you take their credit card then no change here.... so much for customer loyalty
    33% decrease partner rewards...
    25% decrease in voucher exchange...

Wait till we get the full detail... worse than Osbornes spending review!!!

I'm thinking.... when did inflation exceed 25%+.... they get you enrolled then move the goal posts... big time....

Come on Asda... get your scheme launched and your shopping basket is cheaper to boot....

But in 2009 your 500 bonus points voucher was worth £20 in deals
in December 2010 its now worth £15 a 25% decrease

People who are in it for the points use loads of bonus point vouchers so they will be hit hard

Deanos, the changes are being implemented to allow Tesco to keep double points going.

If Tesco decided to get rid of double points instead of changing the deals you would end up with a lot less.
