hi
I am soooo excited about OS :j have come home armed with soda crystals (amongst other OS bits) and want to do a wash. ..
I currently have Aeriel wash tablets, and would have used 2 previously .. so, I'm guessing I use just one if I'm using SC .. but how much SC do I use, and where do I put it please?
also, I am trying really hard to get my head round the no-softener thing, but seeing as I'm known for having a softener fetish and smelling random peopleI can't quite give it up yet ... BUT .... can I use 1/2 what I would have done, and replace the other half with vinegar? is that better than nothing? ironically I have to use more and more softener each time as you get used to the smell and I know I use way too much .. my bad!!
thank you!

hiya
I use just a scoop from an old vanish tub (I'd say it's 2 tbs) soda crystals per wash with an equal quantity of powder. Put them in the main wash drawer
Oh, and when you've finished your tablets, switch to powder, you'll use even less and it's cheaper!
Re softener: Use half your normal amount and reduce gradually. I use white vinegar in small amounts, and softener too

Hi There,
I use mine in the washing machine (after Ive washed hubbies oily clothes, I put some in the drawer, and put the machine on a cycle, so it gets rid of any oil which is still in the machine).
You can really use it for anything. Basically, anything that you would use a normal household cleaner on, use the Soda Crystals.
On the back of the Soda Crystals pack, there is an email address which you can send away for a leaflet, and it explains everything that it can be used for.

Great for cleaning silver. Line a washing up bowl with tinfoil and add a cup of washing soda. Add the cutlery and very hot water. When it stops ` fizzing` take out and rinse and buff up. Truly sparkling!0

Great for getting brown stains out of mugs. Half a teaspon per mug (or a whol one if they are really bad), top up with boiling water, and by the time it's cold the stains will wash out easily. Stand your teaspoons in the cups and do 2 jobs for the price of one.Oh dear, here we go again.0

I keep reading this thread title and thinking it's about that children's programme from the 70s Crystal tips and Alastair :rotfl:
I've just poured a load of soda crystals down my sink with a kettle of boiling water because there was a horrible smell. Turns out it was the colander of broccoli on the windowsill :rotfl:0
