Me too! I only use one washing tablet in the machine and top up the drawer with the soda crystals and it works well!!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

I bought my first bag of soda crystals today and I need some advice on using them in my washing machine.
I currently use Persil (non bio) liquid and I thought that I could use less of this and substitute half of the Persil with the crystals. Do I put them in the drum along with the Persil (in a ball)?
Thanks0 -
Well I think I would put them in the soap dispenser tray separately so the water can dissolve them. Perhaps someone with more wisdom will come along soon and answer your question;)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Personally, I wouldn't put them in the "drum" but into the drawer.
You can add a Tbsp of soda crystals to the drawer compartment of your washing machine and still use less of the commercial powder in the ball for that you put in the "drum" of the machine.
Alternatively, you could make you own concoction of "laundry powder". Just off to find the "recipe" for it and will post back when I find it~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

HM Laundry Powder
You can sub the soap ends for some Persil if that is your personal favourite, but just be aware it makes it more 'expensive'~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I use 1 bio tablet and 1/2 a cup of soda crystals (exact measurement is on side of pack) in the drawer and haven't noticed any difference in the results from using 2 bio tablets. (Apart from the cost!)0 -
Is there a thread just about Soda Crystals? I've looked and can't find one, did a search came up with about 3 million threads which mention them somewhere, but I seem to think there was one devoted to them. If anyone knows please post me a link, thanks.Stop looking for answers....

The site is on a major go slow, so I can't post all the links, but if you click on advanced search, choose 'titles only' and type in soda crystals, several threads come up. I did try to link one of them for you but nothing happened.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
