  • Hi Twoflower ((hugs))
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • I just made most of the CFR carrot cake... And then realised I have nowhere near enough vegetable oil!

Looks like my raisins will have extra plumping time while we wait for Hubby to get back from work... And on the plus side, I know the grater attachment to the food processor takes about 10 seconds to grate 3 large carrots :D So glad I got that back from my Mum...

twoflower, You may already know about them but I saw a documentary about the loss of a partner and The WAY foundation seemed a really helpful.
I think Sugar has beem most useful just now, I certainly can't come up with anything as useful, I'll be more use when your DS is potty training ;)

krystal I think you can use melted butter/other fat in place of the oil.
Has the flour got wet so far? I think the resulting cake may be a disaster if it has and its allowed to sit that long before cooking :s

I always deliberately soak my grains and it doesn't cause any problems.

We have no other oil/fats in the house... I used the last of the butter this morning making Aimee's breakfast so Caitlyn just had yellow food for lunch :o

I'm sure it will be fine, I was halfway through banana loaf once and realised I was lacking eggs, the mix sat for the night before I cooked it and it was no different to normal banana loaf...

do you think i could turn 2 trays of roasting veg into a nice soup? it has new pots, sweet pot, carrots, parsnips and red onion?? have bunged it in SC with chicken stock (no veg stock) It was meant for roast dinner but bought reduced on sat and didnt want to throw it out.

really slept in today and had to rush around with kids, the rain was pouring and once the bigger 3 were at school i climbed back into bed! Charlie woke me a while later to make his breakfast. im still in my pjs and not thinking of doing very much! 2 of my ASOS orders have been dispatched, the only down side to internet shopping is having to wait :D

Hello twoflower and hello everyone else:)

Had a terrible night last night, both my babies are poorly....K isn't so bad just a snotty nose and a bit of a general cold, poor T has gotten herself a terrible hurty cough, It made her sick yesterday as she is a bit phlegmy with it! I ended up down on the sofa with her last night cos everytime she coughed she cried:(

She doesn't seem to be coughing as badly atm but is off her milk, poor little baby...

I have just retrieved my exercise bike from my mum's so am making a start on that later. Just browsing around trying to pick up another couple of dvd's for the older boys, i am doing them a film night hamper each, it will have 2-3 dvds i and then a can or two of coke and some bags of popcorn, chocs, sweets:)
I just need to find them a sutable basket/box to put it in and see if I can think of anything else that might be good to go in it...

    xx

  • Sorry ladies havnt read back just a quick cheeky q from me:

To those of you that are cooking xmas dinner this year, Have you ordered your turkey, if so where from and have you used them before? Im not keen on any local butchers and last year sent OH out after work on a 1.5 hour drive to pick ours up on the 23rd with all the xmas traffic. (I had ordered it before hand) Has anyone used an online butcher? Thanks all x - also posted in other thread so I get lots of replies hopefully!
