  • GISI - I'd take it back and get something I liked, otherwise we wouldn't get the wear out of it and that seems such a waste of money.

Thanks for the advice regarding cerazette. Nurse prescribed it me yesterday but I really hate being on the pill but also don't want injection, too scared for the coil so the pill seems the better option.

I have had a code from Vertbaudet - does it only work on full price stuff? All the stuff I like has money off (as does the majority of stuff does from what I can see?)

Be cheaper if it was though, we'd save a fortune in council tax and water.

    Bedtime 6.30-7.
Getting up time 7.45-8. She often wakes before then (but after we've got up at seven) in which case we tell her she can get up and play in her room until proper getting up time.

    ETA: But no naps.

Tonight it was 9pm that she finally went to sleep . I'm trying to do a getting-out-of-bed-and-following-me-back-through version of controlled crying though. I put her to bed and leave the room. She starts howling, gets out of bed and follows me. I ignore her for a bit, then pick her up, carry her back into her room, hold her without cuddling/talking (so I'm holding her under her bum, but she can still cuddle me) till she calms down, put her back into bed kiss night night, leave the room and repeat. I only started that routine half way through tonight though, so the first few times I put her back to bed I let her have proper cuddles etc... then I decided that it wasn't doing any favours, and I just need to get her calmed down enough to put her down and walk out again. I'm hoping a few nights will do the trick. At least tomorrow DH will be home, so we can take it in turns to put her back to bed - she normally behaves for him - he is definitely bad cop :rotfl:.

So yes on a good night we get 8ish till 6:30, but with an afternoon nap. I think we are getting to the point where stopping the nap and keeping her awake is going to be on the cards. At the moment she (normally) still gets tired enough that she needs a nap, and we would just spend the rest of the day cuddling with milk on the sofa if she didn't have one, so probalby not quite there yet though.

After all that screaming I think I will have to go put myself to bed shortly. At least I only need to go to bed once!

  • Lady - that's what I do with Katie, once with a kiss, cuddle, goodnight, 2nd, goodnight, 3rd no communication.

I'm bad cop as I leave her, daddy is good cop he stays until she's asleep.

She tries not to have a nap, but if she hasn't she normally crashes at 5 which then means a late night.

I changed our bedtime routine when she was 16 months old (CC) as I got fed up of sitting there for ages whilst she stroked my hand until it was irritated going to sleep - she still strokes my hand if she's tired but I can now tell her to stop as it's hurting.

She is sweet though if anyone is upset the first thing she tries to do is stroke their hand as that is her security/comfort thing.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

  • Oh what a sweetie MDW. I don't mind sitting in with her if she is poorly or something, but realistically I can't sit in her room for an hour every night, as i don't normally get to cook/eat until she is asleep. When she was going to bed by half seven/8ish that was bad enough, but now we are nearer 8:30, that is no time to start cooking. It isn't so bad on the days DH is here - at least he can cook while I'm putting her to bed!
