Thank you lovely Tara :) are we still hosting the lovely pregnant ladies?

I would have thought they'd only do an internal credit check for a bank card buttons as you're not actually applying for credit. Have you had any charges/unplanned overdrafts or anything? Obviously you don't need to tell me, just giving you ideas.

I know Jillie, gutted :( but if I reschedule for after we get back from Edinburgh my lovely bright red hair won't be leaking colour in the hotel pool ;)

Well I think when I was 16 I had a TSB card and my mum had control of it cause my college bursary went into it and I think maybe there was a charge on that and she never paid it? I didn't even know the pin! She took a storecard out in my name and run up debt, which I had to pay  She'd not even kept up payments so they'd sold the debt onto another company etc. I managed to get the price halved and paid them £220 :( she never gave me a bean either.

I had my very first bank charge last week actually, my TV license bounced but they cleared that as a goodwill thing. I also said I had pleurisy.

Oh thanks SS, I'll do that :D

    depends on the bank
some are replacing all switch/maestro with visa debit
DH has a debit card from LLoyds, but he can only withdraw cash from a Lloyds machine.

    would you swap banks?

Yeah I would swap but if they won't even give me a visa debit (halifax/bank of scotland) can't see anyone else, I know RBS is doing that, as they swapped Idris'.

Oh seriously, I am so tired. I put a quiche in the oven, I dont even like quiche but Im so hungry and tired it will do. I'll slather it in ketchup.

Debit cards are usually only checked against internal records, so you would probably have been refused against recent bank account transactions. Your charge last week will mean you have to wait another 6 months and keep it completely within limits. Sorry.

Erin needs to different treatments through the NHS, both important and really needed. We have to pay for both, I mean !!!!!!!!! What on earth does DH pay over £1200 out of his wages for each month if his DD can't get what she needs!
Too many children, too little time!!!
    :p
