I had to lose ours ... the older two hadn't had one, but someone gave me one for DS3, and he became a complete nightmare: he HAD to have this step seat, he HAD to have his legs supported, he HAD to go Right Now but couldn't without the step seat, and so on.

The times I spent squatting in grotty toilets, holding his little legs while he gave a cursory grunt and then said he couldn't go, only to repeat the process 5 minutes later ...

In the end we went cold turkey. We were going on holiday to France, and there was no way I was putting it in the car - there was no way it would FIT, apart from anything else!

And I got DH to put it in the shed before we went. ;)

It was a bit of a struggle, but eventually gravity and congestion moved his bowels, and he was fine by the time we got home.

However, a few months later the lady I'd got it from found she was expecting a Happy Surprise, so I cleaned it up and took it back to her. DS3 saw it in her loo, and said "That's my toilet seat!" I swear he'd have taken it back home if I'd let him! :rotfl:

He was only about 4, btw, so I'm not sure what other methods I'd use when they were older. A stool is definitely a good idea, would she go for star charts / rewards / bribery? I'd talk about it too: I know it's a common fear with young children, but it's not really a rational one, is it?

Just wondering, does your current loo seat have a particularly wide opening? They do come in slightly different shapes and sizes, may be worth looking at the options!

She was sleeping through about half the time and not having BF overnight, but since being ill last week has become a boob fiend - it's like having a newborn who can lift my shirt and specifically ask for boob.

While she was quite ill I was happy for her to have the comfort and immune system benefits of breastmilk, but I don't want it to become a habit now she's getting over it.

In that case you will probably find one night of being a big meany will do the trick - I had to tackle that one earlier in the week now Izzy is feeling better - we had one night where she was asking for milk and i said no - she whined and moaned for a bit while I walked her up and down, then I put her into bed when I thought I could get away with it, stayed with her for some lyign cuddles, then left her to it. She has slept through ever since then, although I'm sure I hgave now jinxed us ;)

I'm in a foul mood this morning! Grrrrr. I hate my neighbours. Their smoke alarm has been going off for the last half hour cos they are too stupid to check if the chimney is unblocked before lighting the worlds biggest amount of wood underneath it!! I think she's a fifty year old living with her dad as well :undecided

If you want to get out for the day there are some lovely places to go around your way that I may pay a visit to with T for the day, and you could just happen to be be there!

Well not a bad night here all considering I was worried T wasnt feeling well, only got up a few times and after each feed she went back in her cot fine (well apart from the time OH thought she was falling off the bed as I lifted her up and grapped her and startled her awake!)

No plans today apart from have to go and feed best friends 6 cats later as she is in Prague.

:j Miss M co-slept last night, woke at midnight for a cuddle (administered by Papa, who made a wall of pillows against the wall so she was safe and himself slept in the middle so she couldn't see/smell/attack me) and after her midnight cuddle she slept through till 6am, at which point I gave her boob, and she slept after that till 9 :j:j:j:j

I just broke my iron... The steam generator bit fell off and all the plastic casing is broken

I'm completely blaming hubby... I asked him to get it out so I could iron the clothes for today last night... But he didn't and I had to stand in the kitchen and do it so the children were safe in another room... And now the iron is broken, I'm all hot and bothered and my back is aching because the ironing board is a stupid height... AND I don't even have anything for me to wear!!

Plus while I was in the kitchen Aimee let Caitlyn empty a whole tube tube of smarties over the settee......

And Mr Jelly bit me when I was just giving him a stroke...

And I think I'm in a bad mood!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I think we can just say the word meet since we had the rules quoted at us last night and there was nothing against arranging meets in them ;) although that doesnt explain why our posts arranging last weeks Hampshire meet were deleted!
