It is such a beautiful day here but it is absolutely freezing - we had to de-ice the car this morning

I noticed it was frosty this morning and it was 1°C in the garden when I got up around 7am.

Sunny when we walked the dogs this afternoon and it was really nice. That sort of nice crisp fresh air if you know what I mean.

Does anyone know any good tips on how to cut a Mango?

Watch the videos and to the inside out and criss cross thing. It takes a while but you get better with practice.

When we were on honeymoon in Mexico, we did a tour which included a trip to a private beach that was perfect - golden sands, turquiose sea and palm trees. We'd had BBQ chicken and stuff for lunch and the tour guide asked if anyone would like some mango for dessert. A few said yes and he pulled some straight off a tree and cut them up. They tasted fabulous

If I had to pick the best mango I've eaten, I'd go for that one :D

Hello building with Lego. I'm a hair twiddler and I've never grown out of it :o My daughter twiddles with hers but doesn't bother as much when it's in a pony tail. Try fastening it back and see what he does. Even if it looks a bit girly for a boy, it doesn't matter if you're just in the house where nobody can see.
Here I go again on my own....

How much stuff do you buy for Xmas? Don't you dare tell my kids, they'll think I'm a right tight wad!

    Wee Beastie's getting:

a Fropper (I didn't give it to her for her birthday, which is what I bought it for but she was so overfaced with the play tent her grandparents sent I didn't)
    a musical instruments set
a few bits for her stocking
a set of those Tomy eggs

I think that's it. I have a massive boxful of toys that we've picked up at car boots or been given that I really need to sort through as well so she might get loads of stuff and I'll put away some of the stuff she's growing out of.

I get so fed up of stuff, and when you add up what they have you could have furnished the house with the money. We've spent £39ish on Maddy. She doesn't need any more. They'll be boxes and wrapping paper galore on Xmas day to play with. Ben £50 and couple of small things, £4 pj's and a £5 DS game. Then little bit more on Erin and £80-£100 on DS1.

I think I know why we're suddenly having mixed posts - Glad is obviously getting a little enthusiastic (no offence, Glad) and merging threads that are to do with parenting (ie chat but not money-saving), whether they are this general thread or more specific questions (ie the hair-twiddling). The hair-twiddling thread already had a couple of responses before it was merged; when the threads are merged, posts in appear in time order. So effectively we have:

    parent thread post
    parent thread post
    hair-twiddling opener
    parent thread post
    hair-twiddle reply
    parent thread post
    parent thread post
    hair-twiddle reply no.2
    parent thread post
    etc.

There endeth the lesson in MSE thread merger. It does make for very confusing reading!

I don't think you're being stalked (other than by myself & agscully :D), the Arms peeps may have had a looksee last night when it got mentioned but we've got very short attention spans over there :D and have already moved onto other topics such as huge spiders and silly film titles.
